Der Aikikai Dornbirn ist ein traditionelles Dojo, wo du alle 5 Säulen des Aikido erlernen kannst. Im Dojo wird Tai Jitsu (Body Art), Bokken, Jo, Iai-Batto-Ho und Zazen unterrichtet. Dan Shihan, taufte das Dojo im Jahre 2008 auf den Namen O Sen Kan. O Sen Kan ist Mitglied im Birankai Austria, welcher seit dem 1. März 2010 offiziell dem Aikido Welthauptquartier in Tokio angehört.

Every first Friday of the month, there is an Iaido training in the 2nd hour.
Please bring your Iaito and Hakama. In this lesson each of you should wear a hakama so that you learn how to tie it properly and then fold it correctly.

T.K. Chiba Sensei in Dornbirn Austria. Sensei explains basic movements.
In 2007, Chiba Sensei approached me in Bangor, Wales, and said:
"I want to talk to you after class!"
After class he asked me: "Can you organize Summer Camp in Austria?"
"Yes, Sensei," I replied, eager to take on the challenge.
"How would you like this and that arranged?"
His response was brief: "Talk to my secretary!"
And with that, he walked off. 😎
A year later, the moment had arrived—we had the honor of welcoming Chiba Sensei to Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, Austria.
Spending a week in his presence was an unforgettable experience, filled with insight and inspiration.
I believe he truly enjoyed it!
As for us, it was an event we will never forget.
My deepest gratitude goes to Tony Cassells Sensei, for it is only through him that this seminar became possible. Chiba Sensei expresses it very clearly in his own words in the video.

T.K. Chiba Sensei and Kiriotoshi
T.K. Chiba Sensei (1940–2015) was a renowned Aikido Shihan (master instructor), a direct student of Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido. While Chiba Sensei was not primarily a Kenjutsu teacher, he integrated weapons training, including bokken (wooden sword) and jo (staff), deeply into his Aikido practice.
Kiriotoshi is a fundamental concept in traditional Japanese swordsmanship, particularly within Iaido and Kenjutsu. It translates roughly to "cutting through" or "cutting down" and represents a decisive, controlled cut that dominates an opponent's attack by cutting through their centerline with precision and proper timing.
Chiba Sensei's approach emphasized strong martial realism, precise timing, and commitment in cutting techniques, which aligns closely with the concept of Kiriotoshi in Kenjutsu.
Chiba Sensei's application of Kiriotoshi is a method where the cut intercepts and dominates an opponent’s movement rather than merely countering it.
