Saudi Interest in Hadj Moussa Intensifies as €30–40m Feyenoord Offer Is Discussed

Anis Hadj Moussa has emerged as a major target for Saudi Arabian giants Al-Ittihad. Reports from Saudi Arabia claim the Algerian winger is the club’s leading option to strengthen the right side of their attack, with a potentially huge offer capable of testing Feyenoord’s determination to keep him at De Kuip.

The timing makes any potential transfer particularly complicated for Feyenoord. The Dutch transfer window has already closed, meaning Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side would have very limited possibilities to find a suitable replacement if Hadj Moussa were sold.

That situation considerably strengthens Feyenoord’s negotiating position. Saudi reports suggest the Rotterdam club would demand a major fee before even considering allowing one of their most dangerous attacking players to leave.

€30–40m could test Feyenoord

A second report from Saudi Arabia goes further, claiming that an offer worth somewhere between €30 million and €40 million could potentially convince Feyenoord to cooperate.

Importantly, there is currently no confirmation that such a bid has actually been submitted. The reported figure is being discussed as the level at which negotiations could become serious rather than as an offer already received by Feyenoord.

The Saudi Public Investment Fund could provide the financial power required to make such a proposal, with Al-Ittihad reportedly keen to strengthen their squad while their market remains open.

Should an offer arrive, the player’s position would also become crucial. Saudi sources claim reaching an agreement with Hadj Moussa over personal terms would be another important step before any transfer could be completed.

Replacing Hadj Moussa would be extremely difficult

Feyenoord have already undergone significant changes in attack during the final stages of the summer.

Casper Tengstedt has joined Toulouse, Ayase Ueda is heading for Lille, while Reiss Nelson is arriving as a free agent. Losing Hadj Moussa on top of those changes would further reshape Van Bronckhorst’s attacking options.

Unlike clubs in countries where the market remains open, Feyenoord can no longer simply sell a player and then spend the money on an international replacement.

That makes the sporting value of Hadj Moussa particularly important. Even an enormous transfer fee would leave Feyenoord with money they could not easily use to replace him immediately.

Saudi pressure could continue

For now, Hadj Moussa remains a Feyenoord player and there is no confirmed agreement or formal €30–40 million bid.

What appears clear from the Saudi reports is that Al-Ittihad’s interest is serious enough for the Algerian international’s name to feature prominently during the remaining days of their transfer window.

The coming hours could therefore determine whether the interest develops into something concrete.

Feyenoord do not need to sell Hadj Moussa — but if Saudi Arabia puts €30–40 million on the table, their resolve could be seriously tested.

Reiss Nelson Completes Feyenoord Medical Ahead of De Kuip Return

Reiss Nelson is on the verge of completing his return to Feyenoord. The 26-year-old English winger has successfully passed his medical in Rotterdam and is set to join the club as a free agent following his departure from Arsenal.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Nelson reached an agreement with Feyenoord over personal terms on Tuesday evening. He travelled to Rotterdam on Wednesday to complete the final formalities, with his medical presenting no problems.

The move brings Nelson back to familiar territory. He previously spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Feyenoord, becoming part of the team that reached the UEFA Conference League final.

His previous experience at De Kuip makes this more than a typical free-agent signing. Nelson already knows the club, the atmosphere in Rotterdam and the demands that come with playing for Feyenoord.

The main question now concerns his physical condition. Nelson has not been involved in an official matchday squad this season, meaning he may need time to build up match fitness before becoming an immediate option for Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

With the medical successfully completed, however, there is no longer any major obstacle standing in the way. Reiss Nelson is returning to Feyenoord — four years after his first spell at De Kuip.
