🇵🇬 John Ume One Win Away from International Boxing Glory

Papua New Guinea Olympian John Ume will take on New Zealand's Dane Edge in the BX-9 Welterweight Championship semi-final on July 31.

Ume secured his place after a split-decision win over Australia's Alex Lual and now stands just one victory away from fighting for an international title and the NZ$14,000 championship prize.

Fellow PNG boxer Warren Warupi will also make his professional debut on the same card against New Zealand's Tawhiri Toheriri Hallett. Warupi is a 2019 Pacific Games silver medallist and one of PNG's top amateur boxers.

Both fights will be streamed live via pay-per-view on CSN.WATCH, with the event also featuring several WBA regional title bouts.

It is with a heavy heart, that we share the awful news of the passing of our beloved associate Sheldon Scipio.

Sheldon has been a trusted associate for 15 years or so, and originally worked with us on our first Caribbean project. He was a highly respected innovator in Trinidad and Tobago, and a keen mover and shaker in the sports management space.

He wrote to us less than 24 hours ago about a project, so the news of him suffering a fatal stroke only a few hours ago has been a shock.

We've jointly represented footballers, coaches, and other athletes from TandT. It wasn't just about the business; it was also about helping his homeland and the young athletes who originate from there.

Two weeks ago, he finally joined our team officially as "ZSEM - Caribbean" and we will find it hard to replace him.

To his family, colleagues and friends around the world ... our condolences.

Truly a great guy.
