It doesnt matter if you worshipping an idol or non idol
What matters does this worshiping have light in it, what is the divine background , what is their contribution to mankind , do their bring peace or destruction , are they great leaders , do they safeguard the people welfare

You see we have to see in many perspective

The idol has certain coordination energies that they will build the prayer hall by invoking the deity with the correct mantras

Yes certain prayer hall is build without coordination and calculation , no proper prayers , purification, no proper priest which can change the frequency of the divine
So dont need many prayer hall cause many people dont know the right ritual

Some use for own personal gain like seeking lotery this will cause some kind dosha (sin) at ritual which change the real authenticity of the divine

Like the divine left and the shadow of the divine present
Something like that
Because you dont ask right and your ritual are out of propotion

If you need protection and help and safety then you need to pray the particular deity who have successfully help in the past by saving people
Because such divine posses such credibility
You cannot be asking a war lord or goddesses for money
Thats like black magic or back doors
Meaning you summoning the divine to provide you things by performing wrong ritual like more of black magic or certain mantras that force the divine to appear but the divine doesnt appear but only the shadow appears because something wrong with our ritual

That is why people must know what their asking , who is this priest , what type of prayer , who created this prayers , which place , which divine and etc

Must look into this matter and also must
Study the pattern and other related written matterial to further garther if the idols or non idols are from the divine

The divine means its a spark , a movement , a pulled and a resolution

Depending on the stage or spiritual growth and how far human self realisation to attract certain divine present

So meaning all the idol or non idols are basically consciousness
Its just we must learn from the history does this consciousness bring balance and peace to the community
Some hickup are here and there because human being are still lower consciousness living in this higher consciousness this is like bridge only which takes human being sometime to realise and grow with the higher consciousness
Sometime the consciousness itself can change depending the spiritual state and universe expansion

But the consciousness shouldn’t be like a constant life threatening and cause massive destruction
Continuously for years and years
Thats is something to be observe and analyse of the root cause

So nothing is wrong in idol worshipping but you must see which place which divine and what is your intention
