A huge thank you to Josh Ives as he steps down from his role as Head Coach of the Dubai Sharks.

Over the past four years, Josh has been a massive part of this club’s journey; spending two years in a coaching capacity before leading the team as Head Coach.

Before taking on the coaching role, Josh was a standout player who played a huge part in earning the club promotion and helping deliver the most successful season our 1st XV has ever had.

His commitment, leadership and passion have helped shape the culture of this club, and his impact will be felt for years to come.

While we’re incredibly sad to see him step away from coaching, we’re excited that what we’ve lost on the sidelines, we’ve gained back on the pitch. We’ve now got the most versatile player this side of the Eiffel Tower back where he belongs!

From everyone at Dubai Sharks, thank you, Josh. Your legacy at this club is already written, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.

Rich Sinclair continues to play a vital role in the development of our club, entering his second season as Colts Coach.

While he still dusts off the boots once a year to represent the Vets at the 7s, Rich’s focus is firmly on developing the next generation of Sharks. Having last played his rugby for Biggleswade in Bedfordshire, he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the coaching group.

Rich is a pivotal part of the pathway from Colts to Senior Men’s rugby, helping prepare young players for the next step in their rugby journey. With an exciting new crop of players coming through this season, he is looking forward to building on last year’s progress and adding even more width and attacking flair to the Colts game.

His commitment to player development and the future of the club makes him an invaluable member of the Sharks family.

Josh Murphy has been a pivotal part of the Sharks’ journey, playing a major role in helping build the club into what it is today.

Not only has Josh led by example on the field, but he has also stepped into coaching, where he continues to make a huge impact. His work with our Under 16s has helped mould the group into a formidable force, developing not only their skills but also the values and standards that define our club.

His commitment, leadership, and passion for the Sharks are second to none, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything he continues to do for the club.

Ben joined the Sharks women in September 2024, bringing with him a clear vision, big ambition, and a genuine passion for developing the women’s game.

What makes Ben stand out is his belief in the team, his willingness to back new ideas, and his understanding that growth comes from taking risks. Whether it works first time or not, he creates an environment where we can learn, improve, and keep pushing forward.

From complete beginners to national-level players, Ben coaches with the same energy, care, and commitment and somehow manages to be the most approachable person you’ll ever meet… our very own golden retriever.
