Your bridal look should feel like you, not just like a bride.
Personality in bridal styling does not have to mean doing something dramatic for the sake of it; it can come through colour, texture, accessories, shape, layering, references and, most importantly, feeling.
The art you love, the music you listen to, the books, films, interiors and fashion worlds you are drawn to can all become part of the visual language of your wedding look.
A coloured shoe, a tiny veil, a sculptural hat, unexpected jewellery, layered lace, a belt, embroidery, a cape, or even something slightly playful can completely change the energy of a dress.
Because the best bridal looks are not always the most polished or traditionally perfect.
They are the ones with point of view.
They are considered, personal and full of feeling.
Start with the mood you want to create, then build the fashion around that.
Save this if you are planning your bridal look and want it to feel more personal, more styled and more like you.

One of the biggest misconceptions about creative direction is that it’s about having complete creative freedom.
In reality, some of the most rewarding projects begin with a very clear brief.
For the Mykonos chapter of Art of Luxury cruise, the planner already had a strong vision for the atmosphere, the fashion and the venue. My role wasn’t to reinvent that vision - it was to interpret it.
Every styling decision had to earn its place.
The pleated Lana Marinenko gown softened Kalesma’s architectural lines. Rebecca Anne Designs embroidered the chapel’s wave motif into a bespoke mantilla veil. Gibson Bespoke created an opal headpiece that reflected the changing light. Even the groom’s styling became part of the wider visual language.
None of those choices were made in isolation.
Together, they created a bridal story that felt unmistakably connected to Mykonos.
Creative direction isn’t about pushing against a brief.
It’s about finding the space within it to create something distinctive.
The full Mykonos chapter of The Bridal Edit is now live via the link in my bio, where I share every styling decision behind this editorial and why each one mattered.

The recent Vogue wedding budget discussion sparked a lot of debate.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some people focused on the numbers. Others questioned the ex*****on. Both are valid conversations.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What interested me was what it revealed about the relationship between publishing, advertising, and influence.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Mainstream fashion and bridal operate very differently.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In fashion, major advertisers often hold significant influence over the ecosystem. Editorial, advertising, brand relationships, and visibility are deeply interconnected. That’s not criticism. It’s simply how much of the industry functions.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Bridal is different.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The industry has its own challenges, but one thing it still possesses is a level of creative freedom that many other sectors have lost.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Retailers can choose which collections they champion. Creative teams can choose collaborators because they believe in the work. Independent voices can build authority through expertise rather than advertising budgets.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That freedom creates space for experimentation, new talent, unexpected perspectives, and genuine editorial storytelling.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s one of the reasons I remain so passionate about this industry.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The conversation isn’t whether bridal is perfect.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s whether we’re recognising the unique opportunities that exist because of the way our industry is structured.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’d be interested to hear your thoughts.

Bridal retailers - if your diary is full but your revenue isn’t reflecting it, this is where to look.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Appointments are the core of your business.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But most boutiques aren’t measuring how those appointments are actually performing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Conversion.
Spend.
Follow-up.
Time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you understand what each appointment is delivering - and what it’s costing - your decisions become much more precise.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And growth becomes much more controlled.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve broken down the key areas I look at when working with boutiques who want to increase revenue without increasing volume and you can read more in the latest issue of

Bridal brands preparing for 2026 - trend awareness alone is no longer enough.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The pressure is rarely a lack of inspiration.
It is the volume of it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Commercial clarity doesn’t come from reacting quickly.
It comes from filtering well.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
From understanding repetition rather than novelty.
From recognising structure beneath aesthetics.
From asking fewer, better questions.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve written a deeper piece on how to read trends calmly and translate them into decisions that strengthen collections, buying and positioning - rather than distract from them.

A gentle reminder as we move through engagement season: even if you step back from social, your future brides are already looking.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
December and January are when newly engaged couples begin exploring the landscape - saving images, noting names, forming first impressions. You don’t need to post constantly, but staying visible matters. A calm presence shows your brand is active, aligned and ready to welcome enquiries.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This season isn’t about volume. It’s about intention.
Show up just enough that your brand feels confident and present.

HOW TO TELL YOUR BRAND STORY THROUGH EDITORIAL STYLING
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Editorial styling is one of the clearest ways to tell your brand story - not through words, but through visual decisions that speak instantly to your ideal client.
If you’re planning new imagery, here’s a gentle five-step framework to guide you:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨ Tone - The emotional quality of your brand.
Is it quiet luxury, expressive romance, architectural modernism?
Your tone shapes every other choice.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨Texture - The depth and detail that create atmosphere.
Think surface, fabric, light, movement - the tactile language of your brand.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨Palette - Not just colour, but feeling.
Your palette should echo the world your brand belongs to, from warm neutrals to bold contrasts.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨ Proportion - How scale, silhouette and balance tell a story.
Editorial proportion can elevate your positioning instantly.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨Purpose - The most important step.
What is the imagery for?
Sales, storytelling, positioning, submissions?
Purpose anchors the creative direction and ensures the outcome supports your growth.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When these five elements work together, your editorial becomes more than beautiful - it becomes strategic.

A few of the November moments that stood out for me - not just for their beauty, but for what they signal about where bridal fashion is heading. ✨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Historical influence continues to rise, informed by runway, film, and cultural nostalgia. Texture has shifted from embellishment to architecture, transforming silhouettes entirely. We saw celebrity bridal moments that balanced tradition with bold detailing, couture houses embracing feathers again, and Business of Fashion spotlighting the renewed appetite for vintage.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And at the opposite end of the spectrum, chrome minimalism is appearing quietly but confidently - a clean, sculptural counterpoint to pastel maximalism.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Bridal is evolving with more depth, more contrast, and more meaning. A very exciting place to be.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Save this for your 2026 planning and tell me - which is your favourite?

A collaborative editorial isn’t just a creative project - it’s brand positioning in motion.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The best results don’t happen by chance. They’re built through intention, alignment, and preparation.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Before you step on set, know what you want to achieve, who you want to align with, and how you’ll tell the story afterwards.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Editorial isn’t about doing more - it’s about doing it with purpose.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨ Save this before your next shoot.
