Alex Eala won’t be the only player with Filipino roots competing at this year’s US Open.

Filipino-American Andre Ilagan has earned a wild-card spot in the men’s qualifying draw, giving Filipino tennis fans another player to cheer for at the season’s final Grand Slam. 🎾🗽

The 25-year-old Ilagan previously starred in collegiate tennis for the University of Hawaiʻi, where he built an impressive reputation before continuing his journey on the professional circuit.

While Eala takes center stage in the women’s singles main draw, Ilagan will battle through qualifying with hopes of earning his own place in the men’s main draw.
