🚨OFFICIAL🚨 Manchester United have confirmed that Marcus Rashford will wear the No.9 shirt during the 2026/27 season following his return to the club.

Rashford wore the No.9 during United's friendly against AC Milan last weekend, although the club initially described the number as provisional. It has now been officially submitted to the Premier League.

The shirt became available after Rasmus Hojlund completed his transfer to Napoli. Rashford previously wore the No.10 at Old Trafford, but that number now belongs to summer signing Matheus Cunha.

Rashford's future at United remains uncertain with the summer ransfer window still open, but manager Michael Carrick has repeatedly spoken positively about the forward since his return.

Speaking about Rashford, Carrick said: "He's a very good player, and I think if you're going to have a career over 10 or 15 years, there's going to be times when things go in a direction and maybe a different direction.

Manchester United were level 2-2 with AC Milan and after Santos left in the 61st minute, they conceded two more goals because there was not defensive midfielder.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. It’s between Tilemans and Mainoo to pair with Santos and Santos isn’t ready to be a regular starter.

According to talkSPORT, Jadon Sancho prefers moving abroad over staying in the Premier League after leaving Man United.

The winger joined United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 but struggled to reproduce his Bundesliga form at Old Trafford.

Sancho was subsequently loaned out to Dortmund, Chelsea and Aston Villa before his contract expired this summer.

Although Premier League clubs have reportedly shown interest, Sancho prefers to continue his career outside England.

The 26-year-old has been training with non-league side Flixton during the pre-season to maintain his ftness.

Peterborough United have completed the permanent signing of Manchester United winger Ethan Williams.

The 20-year-old has signed a long-term contract with the League One club after completing the necessary paperwork at Peterborough's training ground. He has also been handed the vacant No.10 shirt.

Williams recently travelled with United's first team on their pre-season tour and scored in the 5-0 victory over Rosenborg.

The winger joined Manchester United from Rochdale's academy in 2019 and gained experience in senior football during loan spells at Cheltenham Town and Falkirk. He made 22 appearances for Falkirk last season.

Peterborough beat competition from several other clubs to secure Williams' signature.

Ethan Williams said: "The identity of this club is clear, they like to work with younger players and when I heard of the interest, it was a move that I wanted to make. I have been out on-loan at a couple of clubs, have gained a lot of experience of men's football and felt it was the right time to leave United and sign for Peterborough.
