ZCF Congratulates Budiriro 4 Primary School and Sengwa Primary School for their strong performance at the Africa Schools Chess Championship

- Budiriro 4 Primary School finished at position 7.
- Sengwa Primary School placed 18th out of 26 countries.

This is truly commendable, especially considering it was their first time competing on the african global stage. The schools showed determination, teamwork, and skill and this is a great foundation to build even stronger results in the future.

A record attendance of 242 participants at the Commissioner General 2026 Behind The Wall Chess Tournament at Khami Prison. The participants following the proceedings of the closing ceremony.

ZCF President Todd Mapingire awarded Dr Moses Chihobvu FIDE Certificates of Recognition for the ZPCS team's performance at the continental stage, on behalf of the FIDE Social Commission.

Mr Dongo the ZCF social chess director, was recognised for his sterling work in assisting the Zimbabwe inmates win the continental stage in the Open section and 2nd runner-up in the ladies section by the Commissioner General of ZPCS Dr Moses Chihobvu

Mr Tremendous Moyo, an arbiter at the Commissioner-General chess tournament, is pictured being congratulated by the Commissioner-General of ZPCS Dr Chihobvu for a job well done in officiating the tournament.
