Hosts Morocco advance to the quarterfinals of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) following a 0-0 group A matchday three draw against Senegal at Moulay El Hassan Stadium.

They finish top of the group with seven points while Senegal have been eliminated after accumulating four points.

Despite the elimination, Senegalese goalkeeper Adji Ndiaye was the star of the night, saving the initial penalty before saving the retake from Yamine Slack in the 69th minute. She also registered seven saves.

Meanwhile, Algeria progressed to the quarterfinals after defeating Kenya 2-0 at Olympic Stadium.

First half goals from Marine Dafeur and Lynda Bendris were enough to gift the Algerians the victory.

Algeria finish second in group A with six points.

Morocco will now face the runners-up in group B while Algeria battle the group B winners.

German Bundesliga outfit Hamburger SV have gained a massive following on social media since signing Chipolopolo Boys striker Patson Daka on a one-year deal with an option for a further year.

13 days ago, on July 21, just hours before Hamburger unveiled Daka, Their official page HSV had 803K (803, 000+) followers.

As of this evening, August 3, the page has reached 903K(903, 000) followers, meaning it has gained about 100, 000 followers in less than two weeks.

If the page grows at the same rate, it could have about 1.1 million followers by the time Hamburger play their first Bundesliga fixture of the season against giants Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park.

MTN Super League outfit Konkola Blades have signed veteran Zambian forward Saith Sakala on a one-and-half-year deal, the club has confirmed.

Sakala joins the Chililabombwe-based club from Kabwe Warriors.

Blades have also announced the signing of midfielder Biston Banda on loan from FC MUZA till December, 2026.

MTN Super League side Kansanshi Dynamos has announced the signing of former Power Dynamos striker Kapembwa Musonda on a one-and-half-year deal.

Musonda joins as a free having left Power Dynamos at the end of the 2025/2026 season.

Meanwhile, Kansanshi have also unveiled defender Christopher Mhango.

The Zambian defender has joined as a free agent on a two-year deal. He last featured for ZANACO FC.

Cameroon are the only nation so far to have qualified for the quarterfinals of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

They beat Ghana 1-0 on Sunday evening to secure qualification as group D winners with a game to spare.

At the end of matchday two, seven quarterfinal spots are still up for grabs.

The Copper Queens have lost 1-0 to 10-player Nigeria at the 2026 WAFCON group C matchday two fixture in Rabat.

Multi-time CAF Women's Footballer of the Year Asisat Oshoala scored the all important goal in the 8th minute.

Nigeria were reduced to 10 players in the 39th minute after Oluwatosin Demehin was sent off for a last-player professional foul.

PERMUTATIONS

✅A win against Malawi by any margin will see Zambia going through.

✅If Zambia beat Malawi and Nigeria beat Egypt then goal difference will be used to determine the two sides that are going to qualify.

✅ As it stands, all four teams are in the running for qualification and any of the teams can be eliminated.
