🚨 BREAKING FOOTBALL NEWS: UEFA DEMANDS INFANTINO’S RESIGNATION! 🚨
The battle for the future of world football has reached a boiling point! According to a report by The Telegraph, UEFA has officially called on FIFA President Gianni Infantino to RESIGN IMMEDIATELY or face a vote of no confidence. ❌⚽
📌 What caused the fallout?
The crisis erupted over Infantino’s secret proposal ("FIFA Forward Enterprise") to sell a share of the commercial rights to the FIFA World Cup to private equity investors.
📌 The Backlash:
• Top FIFA advisers and staff resigned in protest, calling the move a "bad deal for football."
• 143 national associations voiced opposition before Infantino was forced to scrap the plan.
• Despite the plan being withdrawn, UEFA states it has "lost all confidence" in Infantino’s leadership.
📌 Can UEFA actually force him out?
YES. FIFA rules state that 43 member votes can trigger an Extraordinary Congress to vote on removing the president. UEFA holds 55 votes—more than enough on their own to force the vote, which requires a simple majority to pass.
Is this the end of Gianni Infantino’s 10-year reign at FIFA? 💭👇

Heartbreaking news for African football as the 2026 World Cup kicks off. ⚽💔
Omar Abdulkadir Artan, Africa’s 2025 Referee of the Year, was denied entry into the US after arriving in Miami. He was set to make history as the first-ever Somali referee to officiate at a World Cup match. Despite holding a valid visa, US Customs and Border Protection turned him away citing "vetting concerns" and broad travel restrictions, and FIFA subsequently dropped him from the tournament roster.
This brings up a massive question: Could FIFA have done more to intervene? 🤔
FIFA essentially washed its hands of the situation, stating they don't get involved in host-country immigration laws. But when you award a World Cup to a country, shouldn't there be an ironclad agreement that all qualified participants, athletes, and officials are guaranteed safe passage? If a global sporting body can’t protect its own historic milestones and top-tier officials from political travel bans, it sets a worrying precedent for future international tournaments.
Artan earned his spot on the world stage through years of hard work, integrity, and merit. To see a dream crushed at the airport terminal is incredibly disappointing.
What do you guys think? Should FIFA have used its massive leverage to back him up, or is a sovereign nation's border security completely out of their hands? 👇
