CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT

Young Elite Ladies Football Club wishes to inform its supporters, followers, partners, and the general public that the 2026 Women's National Division will officially commence on 12th September 2026 and conclude in December 2026.

As the defending champions, the club remains fully focused on its preparations ahead of the new season. The players and technical bench are working tirelessly to ensure the team is ready to defend the title with pride, determination, and the same winning spirit that brought us success last season.

We sincerely thank all our supporters for their continued loyalty and encouragement. We look forward to your unwavering support throughout the 2026 campaign.

🎙️ A Little Chat with Our Striker – Blessings Naomi Moonga

Media Team: How are you, Blessings?

Blessings Naomi Moonga: I'm fine, thank you.

Media Team: Can we ask you five questions?

Blessings Naomi Moonga: Yeah, you can go ahead, although I'm a bit nervous. (Laughs) The questions must not be hard!

Media Team: Don't worry, they're simple.

Blessings Naomi Moonga: Okay, let's start.

Media Team: You have played in both the National League and the Super League. Which was your best match in each competition?

Blessings Naomi Moonga: In the Super League, it has to be the game against National Assembly, where I scored four goals. It was my first-ever quadruple and also my first goals in the Super League, so it was a very special moment for me.

In the National League, it's difficult to choose just one, but I'll go with two matches. The first was against Play It Forward at Sunset Stadium, where I scored my first career hat-trick. The second was our away match against Driven FC in Kabwe. Before the game, our CEO told us that if we lost, there would be no Young Elite Ladies FC in the second round of the National League. We played like our lives depended on it, won 5–0, and I scored a brace.

Media Team: You scored 27 goals in all competitions last season. Which goal was your favourite?

Blessings Naomi Moonga: (Laughs) Come on, guys! That's a very difficult question—they're all my babies!

In the National League, I'll choose the goal I scored against Locus Queens at REIZ Arena. I carried the ball from around the centre of the pitch, dribbled past six players, got close to the edge of the box, and shot. It went straight in. That goal means a lot to me because of the run I made before scoring.

Another favourite was in Kabwe against Kabwe Warriors. I think Kabwe is becoming my favourite place! We had missed so many chances, and I scored the winning goal in the dying minutes. I even cried because I had gone three or four matches without scoring before that game.

In the Super League, I'll choose my header against National Assembly. It was the first goal I had ever scored with my head.

Media Team: Do you consider Phidah Muzuwa a competitor?

Blessings Naomi Moonga: No, no. She's my best friend, and we push each other to become better every day. We know each other's backgrounds, and that's why we work hard. Thanks to our CEO, we both went back to school, and we're very grateful for that opportunity.

Media Team: What are your short-term and long-term goals?

Blessings Naomi Moonga: My short-term goal is to play for the Zambia Under-20 or Under-17 national team. My long-term dream is to represent the Zambia Women's National Team, play at the FIFA Women's World Cup and the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, win both tournaments, become my country's top scorer, and one day play professional football in Europe or the USA.

Media Team: Who inspires and encourages you? And do you have a message for your fans?

Blessings Naomi Moonga: Our CEO always encourages me, whether I'm having a good game or a bad one. My coaches keep reminding me to work hard and stay disciplined, and my teammates always support me too. My family has also been there for me every step of the way.

I want to thank our CEO, my coaches, teammates, family, friends, and all the fans. Because of their support, I had a great season, and I'm ready to continue where I left off.

Elite Ladies FC are delighted to announce the signing of Faith Kaunda on a two-and-a-half-year loan deal from Africa On The Ball.

The talented youngster is eligible to feature in both the ZPL National League and the ZPL Women's Super League. A Zambia U-17 international, Faith will proudly wear the Elite badge this season.

Faith joins the club after an outstanding campaign with Zedpro Soccer Academy, where she impressed with stellar performances, including against Elite Ladies FC in both league meetings. Her displays caught the attention of our scouting team, who worked tirelessly to secure her signature.

A versatile and attack-minded player, Faith's style of play perfectly fits our philosophy. She is expected to add creativity, energy, and quality to the squad as we prepare to defend our National League title and compete at the highest level.

Faith will also reunite with Faith Kapilingo. The two, fondly known as the FKs, first played together on the dusty grounds of Kalingalinga while representing Africa On The Ball before linking up again at Zedpro Soccer Academy. Now, they reunite once more to represent the Elite brand.

Never underestimate her. She guided Young Elite Ladies FC to their first-ever National League title, making history and proving that hard work, discipline, and belief bring success.

A one-time National League champion, Coach Cynthia is focused and determined to challenge for another title in the upcoming transitional season.

YaYa played a key role in helping Young Elite Ladies FC clinch their first-ever trophy last season, as the team were crowned ZPL National League South Zone Champions, while maintaining an unbeaten home record throughout the campaign.
