‎April 16

‎Today, Open Hearts Foundation held a powerful community awareness event, graced by Her Worship the Mayor of Livingstone. The focus was on cancer, albinism, and disability — reminding us of the importance of compassion, understanding, and unity.

‎As it is written in John 9:1–3, our conditions do not define our worth before God. We are all created in His image.

‎It is only us as human beings who create labels and divisions — but in God’s eyes, we are the same, equally loved and equally valuable.

‎Let’s choose to see people the way God sees them. 🤍

Heartfelt Appreciation for the Support Towards the Late Bridget Nasiyongo’s Funeral
On 31st March 2026, the Livingstone community was struck with sorrow at the passing of Bridget Nasiyongo, who lost her battle with cancer at the Cancer Disease Hospital in Lusaka. In this difficult time, the outpouring of compassion and generosity from leaders and community members has brought comfort and relief to the bereaved family.
The Open Hearts Foundation Management extends its deepest gratitude to the Honourable Member of Parliament for Livingstone, Rodney Sikumba, Her Worship the Mayor Constance Nalishebo Mulebai, Livingstonians living in Lusaka, Mr. Siasiloka, the Nakatindi Ward leadership, and all individuals who contributed to covering the funeral expenses. Your kindness has lightened the heavy burden of grief and ensured that Bridget was brought home to Livingstone for a dignified and befitting burial.
This collective act of humanity is a shining example of unity and compassion. It reminds us that in times of sorrow, we are strongest when we stand together. May the spirit of generosity and solidarity shown during this time continue to flourish in our community.
From the bottom of our hearts, we say thank you. May the Lord bless you abundantly for your open hearts and unwavering support.

Thank you for Supporting Bridget’s Journey to Recovery

The Open Hearts Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to all who have stood with us in supporting Bridget during this challenging time. Through your generosity and kindness, Bridget has now been admitted to the Cancer Disease Hospital (CDH) in Lusaka, where she has begun her chemotherapy treatment. This milestone would not have been possible without the collective effort of our community.

We wish to acknowledge the extraordinary contributions that made this journey possible:
- Mr. Mukuni Siloka Siasiloka, who provided the ambulance that transported Bridget safely.
- Her Worship, the Mayor of Livingstone, Constance Nalishebo Muleabai, whose intervention with hospital management ensured that a nurse accompanied Bridget from Livingstone to Lusaka.
- Mr. Jonah Pandwe of Checkmate in Mazabuka, who generously provided meals for the team.
- And to all others who have given financially, emotionally, and spiritually—your support has been invaluable.

This is a testament to the power of unity and compassion. Together, we have shown that humanity thrives when we stand for one another. Yet Bridget’s journey is far from over. Beyond her medical treatment, we envision helping her regain strength and independence by setting her up with an income-generating activity. This will empower her to stand strong and live with dignity after recovery.

We continue to welcome contributions to sustain Bridget’s treatment and future empowerment. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to restoring her health and hope.

Contributions can be made through:
📞 0973000536 (Chibinga)

On behalf of the Open Hearts Foundation, we thank you for your unwavering support. Let us keep the love alive and ensure Bridget’s story becomes one of healing, resilience, and renewed strength.

Appeal for Support – Petros Malipenga

We are reaching out on behalf of Mr. Petros Malipenga, a resident of Libuyu Compound, Ma Area, who is currently going through a very difficult time.

Mr. Malipenga was scheduled to undergo surgery, but unfortunately, the procedure could not take place due to his high blood pressure. As a result, he is left in a fragile state and is unable to provide for himself.

At this moment, he is in urgent need of assistance with food supplies and general upkeep to help him manage daily life as he continues to seek medical care and recovery.

We kindly ask friends, well-wishers, and members of the community to extend a helping hand in any way possible. Your support, no matter how small, will go a long way in easing his burden.
