Help us fight the battle against ALIEN invasives

This project contains observation records of a patch of Swellendam Silcrete Fynbos between Marloth Nature Reserve, the residential area of Swellendam and Masbiekers Kloof. This patch is under an Adopt-A-Spot programma from Swellendam Municipality (2026-2028) by the Swellendam Bewarea Conservancy.

While the First Lego League season is in full swing, the Cyber Tigers are taking a short break from competing — but not from being part of the action!
This time, we’re giving back by helping out as volunteers and judges, sharing our experience and supporting other teams as they explore, innovate, and grow.
It’s inspiring to see the next generation of problem-solvers in action, and we’re proud to play our part. We’ll be back next season — ready to build, code, and compete again! 🐯🤖💪

💡🐯 The Cyber Tigers extend a heartfelt thank you to Devi Moodley from DAI - TEC Solutions for her incredible support in helping our team secure a proposal for the Rip Current Identification App!

📱 With her guidance, the team gained a clear understanding of the entire process—putting us one step closer to turning this lifesaving innovation into reality.

This project is very close to our hearts, as rip currents claim far too many lives along our coastlines each year. Now, we’re reaching out to our amazing community for help.

If you're interested in sponsoring the development of this vital app or know someone who might be, please contact DAI - TEC Solutions or Sanet Glatz. Together, we can make a difference—one wave at a time! 💛

🙏💛 A HUGE thank you to Johan and van den Berg from Vorster Maverick & Kaye for your generous donation to the Cyber Tigers! 🐯 Because of your support, our team was able to attend the FLL APOC event in Australia – an unforgettable opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with teams from around the world. 🌍✨

Without amazing sponsors like you, things like this just wouldn’t be possible. We are so grateful for your kindness and belief in our team! 💛

🌟 We are bursting with pride! 🌟

Our incredible all-girls FLL team, the Cyber Tigers, have made South Africa shine at the Asia Pacific Open Championship by winning the Rising All-Star Award! 🏆🐯

They connected beautifully with teams from all over the world — sharing ideas, cultures, and lots of laughter. Their teamwork, confidence, and collaborative spirit were truly inspiring. 🌍🤝✨

The Innovation Project concept also received high praise: an AI-powered mobile app designed to identify rip currents on beaches in real time, helping swimmers stay safe and potentially saving lives. 🌊📱🤖

The team impressed everyone by persevering when things didn’t always go to plan — showing true resilience, problem-solving, and a never-give-up attitude. 💪⚙️

Despite the challenges of jet lag and exhaustion, they showed maturity and focus beyond their years — making their coaches incredibly proud. ✈️⏰❤️

And here’s something truly extraordinary — the Cyber Tigers have brought home a trophy from every single competition they’ve entered! 🏅👏 That’s a track record of excellence that speaks for itself.

Even more exciting — a couple of amazing opportunities have come up to develop the app further with the support of potential investors! 🚀📈

Well done, Cyber Tigers! You’ve made us all so proud, and we can’t wait to see what’s next. 🇿🇦
