The company and the people behind the NFD’s new popular club, Hope FC 🔴

Founded in October 2025, Hope FC is the sports-for-development arm of Cape Town-based social innovation organisation RLabs, founded by Marlon and Rene Parker.

They co-founded the club alongside former midfielder and current Chairman/CEO Keagan Buchanan.

RLabs has used its technology, digital and community network to build Hope FC from the ground up — including infrastructure, kits and facilities — and into the professional ranks in just 10 months.

The mission goes beyond football: youth empowerment, social transformation and creating economic opportunities for young players, particularly from marginalised communities like the Cape Flats.

Ayakha Sibuta has left Cape Town Spurs to join Lerumo Lions in the NFD.
