The PEA Swimming family joins the wider South African swimming community in mourning the passing of Brian Elliot.

Brian was so much more than a coach. He was one of those special people who became part of the fabric of our sport — a familiar face on pool decks, a mentor to swimmers and a person whose passion and dedication helped shape swimming in South Africa.

For generations of swimmers, coaches and families, Brian was part of their swimming journey. His knowledge, experience and love for the sport touched countless lives, and his contribution will remain part of the legacy of swimming in our country.

People like Brian remind us that swimming is about so much more than races, times and medals. It is about the people we meet, the lessons we learn and the lasting memories we create along the way.

We send our deepest condolences to Brian’s family, friends, swimmers and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

The pool deck will be a little quieter without you, Brian. You will be remembered by us all.

A quick reminder for all participants:

🚗 PARKING: Participants will need to park along Skegness Road or 5th Avenue.

🚶‍♀️ POOL ACCESS: Please use Pedestrian Gate 5 on Skegness Road to access the pool.

2026 PEA Winter Gala Update 🏊‍♀️💙

It is with great disappointment that we have to announce the cancellation of our 2026 PEA Winter Gala.

Due to the ongoing renovations at Newton Park Swimming Pool, the pool is unfortunately not expected to reopen until closer to the end of the year. As much as we were looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the pool, these circumstances are unfortunately beyond our control.

While we are sad that our 2026 gala won’t be going ahead, we are already looking ahead with excitement! 💙
