Namushasha River Lodge Gondwana Collection Namibia The main lodge area with renovated bar area was just beautiful. And it was walking distance from the campsites. The turn off to this lodge and campsite is just off Kongola, where there is a good shop, liquor store and bakery to stock up on.

We had to leave Zambia, but needed to think about what route to take from there. We came North via Botswana but large parts of the roads were in a poor state and currently undergoing extensive roadworks, so the driving was quite unpleasant and ugly on those stretches.
We decided to drive back via Namibia instead.
The most direct route for us from Livingstone would have been down to Kazangula and from there East to Katima Mulilo, via Zambia.
However we were advised by many many people to avoid the M10 between Kazangula and Katima as the road is apparently in a shocking state and is known to be a car breaker! We have marked that route in red on the attached map, for reference.
Therefore we decided to cross two borders in one day by going through Kazangula into Botswana, and drive approximately 70km East to the Ngoma border into Namibia. That worked out quite well - from Livingstone to clearing the Ngoma border, only took around 5 hours.

This view is just GORGE-ous! We thought we were going to hike down to the bottom of Songwe Gorge and back but after 10 mins we realised this hike would need a lot more preparation and it was super hot, so no hiking today 🥵

We had to sadly leave the beautiful Lower Zambezi conservancy and drove 563km to Livingstone. It took us about 9 hours.
We arrived at The Victoria Falls Waterfront campsite just in time for a beautiful sunset 😎 We were a bit too tired to cook in our campsite and treated ourselves to a whole Zambezi Bream for dinner in the restaurant - it was absolutely delicious 🤤
