Sunflower Women Football Club Founded -1996 | Private Company (Pty) Ltd | 2017 KZN Sasol League Champions | 2019 KZN Sasol League Champions

Sunflower Women Football Club (Pty) Ltd is a women-led sports development company
with a 29-year legacy of developing elite female football players while driving social and
economic transformation through sport. Founded in 1996 in Hammarsdale, reminder: Hammarsdale had been affected by political
violence. Sunflower WFC emerged as a beacon of hope, using football as a structured
vehicle for skills development, youth empowerment, enterprise development and
community upliftment. In 2018, the organisation transitioned into a Private Company (Pty) Ltd to strengthen
governance, unlock commercial opportunities, and enable structured participation in
Enterprise & Supplier Development (ESD) value chains.

THIS IS WHAT A LEGACY LOOKS LIKE. 🌻⚽🏆

It is not just about the football.

It is about the girls who get an opportunity to play.
It is about the dreams that begin on a football field.
It is about the communities that come together.
It is about creating moments that young players will remember for the rest of their lives.

The Sunflower WFC Legacy Cup is a celebration of everything we believe women’s football can be.

Watching these young players compete, celebrate, support one another and simply enjoy the beautiful game reminds us why we started this journey in 1996.

For 30 years, Sunflower Women Football Club has believed that talent deserves an opportunity, girls deserve a platform, and women’s football deserves investment.

🌻 This is development.
🌻 This is opportunity.
🌻 This is community.
🌻 This is women’s football.
🌻 THIS IS OUR LEGACY.

And as we celebrate 30 Years of Sunflower WFC — 1996–2026, we are not looking backwards only.

We are building what comes next.

To the players who have worn the Sunflower badge, the coaches, parents, supporters, volunteers, partners and sponsors who have walked this journey with us — this moment belongs to you too. 💛🩵

A special appreciation to Hollywoodbets for supporting the growth of women’s football and helping create platforms where young footballers can showcase their talent.

The field may be where the game is played…

BUT THE LEGACY IS BUILT IN THE LIVES WE TOUCH. 🌻

Wearing the SunflowerWFC branded kit is far more than wearing a football jersey. 💚💛

For every player who puts on these colours, you are carrying the name, history, pride and legacy of Sunflower Women Football Club. You are wearing something that represents a journey that began in 1996 — a journey built by the women and girls who came before you, who gave their time, talent, sweat, tears and sacrifices to build this institution.

When you wear this badge, wear it with respect. Wear it with honour. Wear it with pride. 🌻

Remember that this jersey has a story. There were players before you who wore these colours on difficult days, travelled long distances, played without recognition, fought for opportunities and continued to believe in the dream. Some of them went on to represent their provinces and their country. Others simply gave everything they had for SunflowerWFC.

Today, you are the custodians of that legacy.
The Hollywoodbets Foundation-branded kit also reminds us that we carry the trust and support of those who believe in what SunflowerWFC stands for.

Every time you step onto the field wearing it, you represent not only yourself, but your teammates, your coaches, the supporters, our sponsors, our community and every former player who helped build this family.
Never take the jersey for granted.
Treat it with dignity.

Represent the badge with honour.
Respect the history behind it.
Play for those who came before you.
Play for those standing beside you.
And play for those who will come after you.
Because you are not just wearing a kit — you are wearing a legacy. 🌻💚💛

🌻⚽ ONE TOURNAMENT. ONE FAMILY. ONE LEGACY. 💛💚

As we share the team photographs from the SUNFLOWERWFC LEGACY CUP 2026, our hearts are filled with gratitude, pride and emotion.

To every team, every player, every coach, every official and every supporter who travelled, competed, believed and became part of this special occasion — THANK YOU. 🙏🏽

You did not simply come to play football.
You came to become part of our story.
You came to celebrate 30 years of Sunflower Women Football Club. 🌻

You came to honour the generations of players, coaches, administrators and supporters who have carried this club forward since 1996.

Every team that stepped onto the field added another chapter to the SunflowerWFC Legacy.

There were victories and defeats. There were moments of joy, disappointment, courage, passion and determination. But beyond the results, there was something much bigger — the power of football to bring people together. ❤️⚽

To the teams who travelled from near and far, we hope you leave knowing that you will forever be part of the history of the SUNFLOWERWFC LEGACY CUP.

One day, when we look back at 2026, we will remember the teams in these photographs and say:

“These were the teams that stood with SunflowerWFC as we celebrated 30 years of our journey.”

Your presence made our celebration meaningful.
Your commitment made the tournament special.
Your passion made the football beautiful.
And your friendship made the Legacy Cup more than a tournament — it made it a family.

🌻 TO EVERY TEAM: THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF OUR LEGACY.

May the friendships created here continue beyond the final whistle. May the young players who participated be inspired to dream bigger. And may women's football continue to grow from strength to strength.
The results will eventually fade from the record books.

The trophies will gather dust.
But the memories we created together will live forever.

SUNFLOWERWFC LEGACY CUP 2026
30 YEARS OF SHINING. ONE LEGACY. A FUTURE WITHOUT LIMITS. 🌻💚💛

We welcomed you as teams.
We leave as football family.
Thank you for being part of our journey. 🙏🏽❤️

📸 CAPTURING THE LEGACY — MOMENTS THAT WILL LIVE FOREVER 🌻⚽💛💚

Every great tournament is about more than what happens on the field. It is also about the memories we create, the people who make it possible, and the moments we will one day look back on with pride.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Esakhe Captures, Dando Pics Hlophe, and the incredible Hollywoodbets crew led by Nkanyiso Dlamini for helping us capture the spirit of the SunflowerWFC Legacy Cup through photographs and videos. 📸🎥

From the excitement before kick-off, the battles on the pitch, the celebrations after every goal, the emotions of the players, the supporters in the stands, to the special moments behind the scenes — you were there to capture it all.

Because of your dedication, these moments will not simply remain memories in our hearts. They will become part of the history and legacy of Sunflower Women Football Club. 🌻

Thirty years from now, when future generations look back at the SunflowerWFC Legacy Cup, they will be able to see the faces, feel the emotions and remember the people who helped make this special occasion possible.

To Esakhe Captures, Dando Pics Hlophe and the Hollywoodbets team: thank you for telling our story through your lenses. 🙏🏽
You didn't just take photographs and videos — you captured a legacy. ❤️

A HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO OUR REFEREES 💛💚⚽

To all the referees and assistant referees who gave their time, energy and commitment to make the SunflowerWFC Legacy Cup a success — THANK YOU! 🙏🏽

Football cannot grow without people who are willing to serve the game, and referees are an essential part of that journey. Your decisions, discipline and courage helped us create a tournament that we can be proud of.

Today, we would like to give special recognition to a 14-year-old young referee who stepped forward and showed tremendous courage and potential. At just 14 years old, he refereed two matches and also served as an assistant referee in other games during the Legacy Cup — and he did exceptionally well. 👏🏽👏🏽

Young man, we want you to know that we see you, we believe in you, and we are proud of you. 🌟

Every great referee starts somewhere. Today it may be a community tournament; tomorrow it could be a professional match; and one day, we hope to see you standing on the biggest stages of South African football — even officiating in the PSL. 🏟️⚽

To all the young boys and girls watching him: follow his example. Get involved. Learn the Laws of the Game. Respect the game. Work hard. Take every opportunity to develop yourself.

The SunflowerWFC Legacy Cup was not only about winning trophies. It was also about creating opportunities, developing people and planting seeds for the future of football. 🌻

To our young referee and all his peers — keep going. Your journey has only just begun.

One day, we may look back at this tournament and say: “That was where it all started.” 💚💛
