Your anger is holy

Your anger is needed

Your anger is sacred

And sometimes, it can feel overwhelming

When this happens to me,
I find myself in the garden
In the soil

Just like electricity sometimes needs grounding,
so does that electric current within us sometimes need earthing.

E-motions require motion.

Energy moving is a sign of good health.

Here for change.
Here for anger.
Here for planting seeds of new life.

We are shapeshifters and weavers.
Big dreamers and even bigger feelers.

Why your symptoms won’t leave

Unpopular opinion:

We live in a sick-care society, not a health-care society.

We are taught that our bodies are working against us, not for us.

We are taught that nature is the enemy (bacteria, viruses, mould, parasites, you name it).

So we obsess over every little symptom.

Always fixing, always fighting…

Never really listening…

But what if our bodies were treated with the respect and reverence they deserve?

What if your symptom was not your enemy, but an expression of resolution?

A signal that something biologically wise is taking place,

And that the less you interfere, the quicker the cycle can complete itself.

I grew up with a lot of symptoms and popped many pills.

Eczema, IBS, fatigue, anxiety, asthma, hay-fever, you name it…

When I went down the GNM (Wise Woman Way) rabbit hole and learned this approach, everything changed.

I do not get sick the way I used to.

And I repeat: I do not get stuck in my symptoms.

Of course life happens and symptoms will always be popping up here and there.

But because of this understanding, I embrace the symptom, I rest, I drink my Wild Nettle infusions (bc the body needs minerals to thrive), and most importantly:

St Cyprian’s Day 💙

My sister and I attended our old school’s 155th anniversary at St George’s Cathedral yesterday.

We pretty much grew up at this school ~ from tiny three-year-olds with our hair slicked back and glued down with gel, to our rebellious late teens (before I pulled a sneaky manoeuvre overseas).

Last year I walked back through those gates and cried like a little 10-year-old, remembering all the songs and feeling parts of that “little girl in blue” come home to me.

School was certainly not all sunshine and roses, and I had many reasons not to want to return. Yet instead, I chose to dive right back in and join the Union Committee.

There is still much work to be done to create a truly empowering and inclusive space for girls, especially in the horrific climate of gender-based violence in our country.

I’m grateful to now be part of that work, to show up and share and learn.

Yesterday my spirits were lifted by the songs, memories and community.

I believe deeply in the power of mentorship and sisterhood ~ women walking alongside one another and making the path a little easier for those coming after us.

“Just as light changes the shape of shadow, so does my desire change the shape of my fears.

There was something so truly terrifying about allowing myself to go there with a woman, allowing myself to go there within me.

I felt a kind of fear that was almost deathly… like when I jumped out of an airplane or scaled mountains and dove to depths beyond 30m with one breath.

These fears awaken something ancient inside of me.

They tell me that I am moving from one state into another.

That I am literally crossing a threshold.

I am not the same woman I was before that night with her.

I am irrevocably changed.

I have tasted and lain in the lap of something so utterly precious and sacred that words will never quite do it justice.

I have well and truly entered into the pink paradise of my girlhood dreams.

A kind of jellyfish heaven that I saw at the aquarium the other day.

A kind of strawberry milkshake so sweet and creamy and child-like dreamy.

It is like a true homecoming that has nothing to do with identities or constructs or ownership.

It is a homecoming to ourselves.

A homecoming to womanhood.

A return to the Garden of Eden of our own imagination…

Our bodily forest of mysteries,

Our infinite oceanic depths,

So much yet to be discovered…”

TO HAVE ELDERS, is RADICAL

“An elder is a person recognised for age, experience, wisdom, and authority - someone who holds social, spiritual, or communal responsibility rather than just biological age.”

It is with great excitement - and honour - that I share with you the elders who are joining Radical Woman.

When was the last time you actually sat and listened to an elder?

Someone shaped by wisdom and devotion to what they are in service to.

Someone close enough to your own culture and reality to be recognizable, yet brave enough to step beyond it.

Someone who chooses legacy over comfort, and responsibility over ease.

…

Grandmother wisdom that is embodied, wild, and uncorrupted by centuries of patriarchal conditioning is so rare.

It is so radical.

This is why these women stand out to me as personal teachers and elders - women I have had the great gift of learning with and being guided by.

These women are fierce in their loving.
Brave and loyal to their cause.

Their cause being the empowerment and liberation of ALL.
