My first love was never a person - a message from Coach K (Owner, Choreographer, Performer, Dance & Aerial Coach)
It started with a little girl in a tutu, completely unaware that she was falling in love with something that would shape her entire life. She dreamed of stages, costumes, music and being able to express everything she felt without having to say a word. Dance has been there through every version of me. It has challenged me, humbled me, broken me down & taught me how to build myself back up. It has given me some of my happiest memories, hardest lessons. 20 Years of classes, rehearsals, bruises, sore muscles, competitions, costumes, stages, trophies, tears, laughter, and countless hours spent trying again & again. Dance taught me discipline, resilience, confidence, heartbreak, joy, and most importantly, how to keep going when things get hard. It gave me a place to express the things I couldn’t always put into words. Somewhere along the way, my biggest dream became bigger than performing myself. Now, dance isn’t just something I do, It’s something I get to give. I get to stand in my studio and watch others discover that they are capable of more than they thought, find their confidence, push past the moments they want to give up, & chase dreams that feel bigger than them. I get to watch others stand in front of a mirror and realise they can do it. I get to choreograph the stories they carry, push them when they doubt themselves, celebrate the little victories, & stand beside them while they work towards something they once thought was impossible. I love watching someone else finally nail the step they’ve been struggling with, seeing a dancer believe in themselves for the first time, watching a shy little girl find her confidence, or standing backstage knowing how hard they have worked to get there, and remind young dancers that their dreams are worth fighting for. So much of who I am began in a dance studio. Dance gave me a voice. It gave me purpose. It gave me a home & now getting to help create that feeling for others and getting to help them fall in love with it too will forever be one of the greatest gifts this first love has ever given me🤍
