Sometimes, you just need to get your hands dirty.
This past weekend, we stepped away from the noise and into the wonderfully grounding world of clay.
There’s something incredibly calming about working with your hands. The repetitive movements, the texture of the clay and the need to slow down and focus on what’s right in front of you can help bring your attention out of your thoughts and back into the present moment.
For many people, tactile, creative activities like working with clay can be a beautiful way to release tension, regulate stress and create a little breathing room when anxiety feels overwhelming.
This weekend was a reminder that wellbeing doesn’t always have to look like meditation or sitting perfectly still.
Sometimes, it looks like clay under your fingernails, laughter around a table and giving yourself permission to simply be.
Thank you to everyone who joined us.

Retirement changes more than your routine.
It can make you question your identity.
Who am I without my job title?
When so much of your life has been tied to your career, finding your sense of purpose beyond work can feel unfamiliar.
You don’t have to figure it all out alone.
If you’re navigating this transition and wondering what comes next, I can help.

You don’t have to walk this journey alone.
Caring for a loved one living with dementia can be rewarding, but it can also be incredibly challenging. Sometimes, what you need most is a space where you can simply talk to people who understand.
Our Labyrinth Group for Dementia Carers and Family Members meets every second Monday of the month at Buh-Rein Retirement Village.
The Labyrinth Project is a Rotary initiative creating a safe, supportive space where carers and family members can:
Share their experiences.
Talk openly about the challenges they face.
Support and encourage one another.
Step in when someone needs an extra hand.
We will soon be starting a new group and would love to hear from anyone who would like to join.

You do not have to have all the answers. Sometimes, knowing that someone else understands makes all the difference.
