My third marathon, but by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done. 🥹💔
Everything was perfect leading up to the start and into the first half I was having the absolute best time. But by 23kms a sharp niggle in my left knee changed everything. From that point on, it became a literal mental and physical battle to drag myself to the finish line.
I wanted to give up so many times, but by the grace of God and His strength, I kept moving. He literally sent me the right people at the exact moments I needed them, strangers who kept me moving, familiar faces in the crowd, and my family and friends cheering me on. The support on the road was ABSOLUTELY insane🥹🥹. Just thinking about the kindness of strangers out there helping me out completely warms my heart. The highlight of this race was COMMUNITY ❤️❤️
It definitely wasn’t the race I hoped for, but it was the race that challenged and changed me. I fought sooooo hard for this medal (so I’ll wear it the whole week 😭) . , you will forever have my heart and I’ll absolutely be back 🏅✨
