Hamiltons Wild Dogs 17 - 7 False Bay Barbarians

A closely fought contest and a tough competitive game of rugby played in a good spirit. Falsebay Barbarians held the lead by less than one score separating the teams going into the last quarter of the game.

Falsebay will rue a slew of missed opportunities to score in the first half with the inaccuracy of a last pass, ultimately proving very costly.

The Wild Dogs did well to regroup after halftime to stage a well fought successful comeback and take their opportunities to score twice after periods of sustained pressure on the opposition line. The Barbarians initially stoic defence eventually succumbed late in the last quarter to seal the W for the Wild Dogs.

False Bay Barbarians 0 - Durbell Blues 48

This was always going to be a tough outing against the 5 time consecutive defending champions, who were coming off a bye week.

They brought their trade mark physicality and set piece dominance, along with lightning quick ruck speed, cohesive play and pin point accurate game management and distribution by their experienced half back pairing. Ensuring a challenging day at the office for the Barbarians.

The elusive consistency evaded the team again with moments of cohesive brilliance interspersed with momentary defensive lapses proved enough to give the W to the visiting team.

We will regroup, take our learnings, put in the work on the training pitch and forge ahead to our next fixture.
