We’re proud to recognize one of our own, Captain Dave Carney, for his quick thinking and decisive actions while off duty during the recent boat fire on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Captain Carney, one of our department’s most senior members, immediately recognized the danger and alerted those on board to evacuate. His calm leadership and rapid response likely made a critical difference as the fire spread quickly throughout the vessel.
This is a great reminder that firefighters never truly stop serving. Whether on duty or off, the instinct to protect others is always there.
Outstanding job, Captain Carney. Your professionalism reflects the very best of the Tewksbury Firefighters Local 1647, and our department.

TFD Engine 3 and Ambulance 3 had the pleasure of stopping by a neighborhood lemonade stand with an even sweeter purpose. 🍋
The young entrepreneurs weren’t just serving up cold lemonade — they were raising money for the One Wish Project and making a positive impact in our community. We were proud to support their efforts and enjoyed taking a few minutes to chat, grab a refreshing drink, and encourage their hard work.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and community spirit. It’s moments like these that remind us what makes our community so special.
