Well that was worth waiting 20 years for. Following three well contested losses against Wilston Grange, it was all about the 20th Anniversary celebrations.
As soon as we saw the 140 past and present players, members and partners arriving in the clubrooms we could feel the excitement.
MC Dave Farrell introduced current Supercats President Riki Kerr for his opening speech.
The 1st Qtr (2006-2011) panel of Birchy, Keasy, Jeff Jones and Douls reminisced on how it all started with hilarious memories of the early years.
Bugsy then announced the backs in the 20 year Dream Team - Brett Jones, Scott Coombs, Brendan Long, Steven Boehme, Rowan Johnson and Grant Reynolds.
The 2nd Qtr panel (2012-2016) of Bandit, Toohs, Nugget and Hatchie got the crowd up and about with passionate banter but nothing could stop NUGE bringing the topic back to himself.
Tea Bag was awarded the 20 year HTFU award for his infamous shoe effort and Bugsy announced the Dream Team centreline of Andrew Wise, Glen Edwards and Stephen Toohey.
After the half time break, the well fed and lubricated crowd was entertained with the 3rd Qtr (2017- 2021) panel of Horse, Dave Nelson, Dean Wallington and Boehmy, after which Bugsy announced the Dream Team forward line of Mark McAllister, Ben Sargood, Kel Donovan, Patrick Mulholland, Glen Nugent and James Perejmibida.
The 4th Qtr (2022-26) panel featured Nick Mitchell, Bec Goodwin, Brian Judge and Ben Litterick
Despite it becoming clear Bugsy missed out on food but made up for it with Proseccos (for which he was awarded Best Off Ground for the night) he managed to announce the Dream Team followers as Neil McIntosh, Lauren Blake, Craig Richardson, interchange Matthew Hatchard, Craig Caire, Justin McCallion and Sean Barrett. Head coach was Steven Boehme and assistant coach Glenn Nugent (Nuge).
The formalities closed with a very passionate and emotion filled It's a Grand Old Flag team song.
Thanks for everybody who managed to come along and the efforts from the 2026 Supercats Committee. See you all in another 20 years.

Inaugural Supercats Master Golf Event 2026 a huge success!!!
On Friday last week a well organise Golf Day was enjoyed at the local Minnippi Golf Course. A big thank you to all for making it a fantastic day, the weather really turned it on for us.
Shoutout to the one and only Matty T for running such a successful event (albeit under mentoring supervision and encouragement) and hurding the rabble through the day, well done Matty.
Some great banter and chats were had all round, this is what footy clubs are all about, mens mental health and wellbeing while being a little bit combative and competitive which always brings a bit of controversy doesn't it.
Let's make it even better for 2027 with more players, more prizes and more NTP's as they are a lot of fun!
Congrats to the winning team via a countback of Harro, Riki, Dave Nelson and Ads who proudly took home the Yellow Jackets and Trophy. They were tied with Nick Mitchell, Kurta, Matty T & Troy (aka Nails).

Long Tongz - How Long is your Tong?
They reckon size doesn’t matter… but that’s clearly come
from someone who’s never tried flipping a T-bone over hot coals with a pair of limp salad servers.
Welcome to Long Tongz - home of the big, bold, and downright ridiculous
BBQ and Campfire Tongs built for blokes who like their flames hot, their grip
solid, and their reach longer than a Sunday arvo session. These aren’t your
nanna’s kitchen tools, they’re built for fire pit legends, BBQ bosses, and
anyone who knows the only thing better than cooking meat… is cooking meat.
Whether you’re shifting coals, flipping snags, or just
swinging your tong around to let the neighbours know who runs the pit, these
bad boys bring the heat and the brag.
Long Tongz aren’t just long… they’re bloody legendary.

A great day of football on Saturday 23rd May with all three teams playing at home against one of our toughest rivals, the Sunshine Coast Rayners.
The Women kicked the day off with a comprehensive 4.6.30 to 0.3.3 victory. Great job ladies!
The Men's 45s were next but, despite holding the ball in their forward line for the last 5 minutes, fell agonisingly short going down 6.5.41 to 7.3.45. Bad luck but a great effort!
The Men's 35s set the ledger right with a hard fought 7.10.52 to 5.2.32 victory. A big win!
Next games for the Men's teams are at home against Redcliffe on 6th June, starting at 1.00 pm, while the Women are away to Broadbeach at 5.30pm.
In the meantime, don't forget to buy your tickets using the link below for the 20th Anniversary Celebration at 6.30 pm Saturday 1st August following home games against traditional rivals Wilston Grange!
