A good morning shoutout to NAU Football for WINNING their opening game of the season yesterday in a comeback against Eastern Washington 34-27!

Next up for NAU is next Saturday when they travel to Tucson for Arizona’s season opener. 👀

Even for FCS, I wouldn’t be surprised if it became a shootout. NAU can play.

Irregardless of how game two of the double goes, Corbin Burnes tosses TWO perfect innings in his Reno rehab start which is great considering we need rotation stability.

As mentioned, Zac is up tomorrow.

With San Diego’s loss, the Diamondbacks are now up a half game in the WC with one game left tonight to play. Winning would put us up a game and a half. 🫡

In a rarity situation, the Diamondbacks today play a DOUBLEHEADER and we send Merrill Kelly and Mitch Bratt to the mound as we hope to find a way to leap the Padres tonight.

The season hangs in the balance still as Corbin Burnes is expected to make his Reno start tonight and Zac Gallen is slated to pitch for Reno tomorrow. Both could very well rejoin the rotation within the next week or two.

Tonight begins a crucial set in another must win series against the Giants and the Diamondbacks lean on rookie Jose Cabrera to keep up momentum.

Luckily for us the Padres begin a set with the Rays tomorrow.

To bolster the playoff push - pitchers Corbin Burnes AND Zac Gallen could both be back within the next couple of series. Corbin has a chance to pitch in Reno this weekend and Gallen could return after one or two rehab start.

Both if locked in can be VITAL to an underdog title.
