Under the Gender Responsive Disaster Risk Reduction in Bangladesh (GRDRRIB) Project, a public awareness Pot Song campaign was organized on 21 June 2026 as part of the activity “Launch 6 Public Campaigns:Embankments Save Lives – Women Lead the Change.” The event took place in the afternoon at the Jhapa Bastati Puja Mandap premises in Padmapukur Union, Shyamnagar Upazila, Satkhira District.
The Pot Song highlighted the importance of embankment protection in coastal areas, disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, and the leadership and participation of women in disaster management. The event attracted the enthusiastic participation of hundreds of people from all walks of life, including local representatives, women, men, youth, teachers, and students.
Through its engaging performances and awareness-focused messages, the Pot Song campaign played an important role in increasing public awareness about embankment protection, disaster preparedness, and gender equality.

🌿 Capacity Building Training on Business Planning and Savings Management 🌿
On 14 June 2026, BINDU Nari Unnayan Sangathan, with financial support from the Gates Foundation, successfully organized a day-long training on Business Planning and Savings Management at the Officers’ Club in Kaliganj Upazila.
A total of 30 women farmers from 25 women farmer groups participated in the training. Resource persons from the Department of Cooperatives and the Department of Youth Development facilitated interactive sessions on business planning, loan management, and savings management.
The training strengthened participants’ knowledge and skills in financial management, enterprise development, and sustainable savings practices, empowering women farmers to enhance their livelihoods and economic resilience.
The CARE for Women Project is jointly implemented by AVAS, BINDU Nari Unnayan Sangathan, Street Child, and Coast Foundation, funded by the Gates Foundation.

🌿 Student Brigade Formation and Awareness Session 🌿
Under the project “Strengthening the Coping Capacity of Vulnerable People Facing Challenges from the Adverse Effects of Climate Change (SCOPE)”, funded by Educo Bangladesh and Tearfund, BINDU Nari Unnayan Sangathan organized a Student Brigade activity on 11 June 2026 at B.K. Secondary School, Padmapukur Union, Shyamnagar.
A total of 30 students (18 girls and 12 boys), including a student with disabilities and members from minority communities, participated in discussions on the importance of tree plantation, mangrove conservation, disaster risk reduction, environmental sustainability, and renewable energy for climate resilience.
The Student Brigade members pledged to act as climate ambassadors by planting trees, promoting mangrove conservation, encouraging the use of renewable energy, and raising environmental awareness within their families and communities.

📢 BINDU Nari Unnayan Sangathan at CoP Network Convention 2026
Today, BINDU Nari Unnayan Sangathan proudly participated in the Annual Community of Practices (CoP) Network Convention 2026 on the theme “Women Leading Climate Adaptation: Learning and Challenges” held at LGED Bhaban, Dhaka.
The convention brought together development practitioners, women leaders, government representatives, and climate adaptation stakeholders to share experiences, lessons learned, and innovative approaches to strengthening women's leadership in climate resilience and sustainable development.
We are honored to be part of this important platform, contributing to discussions on empowering women and marginalized communities to lead climate adaptation efforts in Bangladesh.
Together, we can build a more resilient, inclusive, and climate-smart future.

🌿 Community Women Development Group (CWDG) Monthly Meeting 🌿
On 10 June 2026, the Community Women Development Group held its monthly meeting in Padmapukur Union, Shyamnagar. A total of 30 women, including women with disabilities and members of minority communities, participated in discussions on the importance of tree plantation, emergency preparedness, the increased risks faced by children, persons with disabilities, and pregnant and postpartum women during disasters, and the need for women-friendly cyclone shelters.
The participants agreed to plant at least five trees per family, promote environmental awareness, encourage the use of renewable energy, and strengthen community disaster preparedness to build a greener and more climate-resilient future.

📊 Endline Data Collection Successfully Completed for EmPower II
Yeasterday BINDU Nari Unnayan Sangathan proudly participated in the Endline Data Collection for EmPower II,under the project strengthening and scaling up climate-resilient livelihoods for women and other marginalized groups in the climate hotspots of Bangladesh.
Implemented by the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), BRAC University, with BINDU Nari Unnayan Sangathan as the local partner and funded by UN Women, this endline assessment captured the progress, achievements, and impact of the project on women’s economic empowerment, resilience, and sustainable livelihoods on Renewable energy.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all participants, community women leaders, and stakeholders whose valuable contributions continue to drive positive change and create a more resilient future for vulnerable communities.

📢 Empowering Women Farmers through Inclusive Financing and Sustainable Enterprise Development
On 09 June 2026, under the Care for Women Project funded by the Gates Foundation and led by AVAS, and implemented by Bindu Nari Unnayan Sangathan, a cheque distribution ceremony was successfully conducted to support women farmers in strengthening agricultural production, small businesses, and income-generating activities.
As part of promoting financial discipline, savings culture, and sustainable revolving funds within women groups, a total of 13 Women Farmer Groups received start-up support for their Small Seed Enterprise initiatives. Each group was provided with BDT 30,000, totaling BDT 390,000.
The provided funds will be used for agricultural production, livestock and poultry rearing, vegetable cultivation, and savings & loan activities. This initiative aims to strengthen the economic empowerment, resilience, and sustainable livelihoods of women farmers in the community.

📢 Inception Meetings Held for the Gender Responsive Disaster Risk Reduction in Bangladesh (GRDRRIB) Project in Shyamnagar & Assasuni
To strengthen gender-responsive disaster preparedness and community resilience, inception meetings of the GRDRRIB Project were successfully held in Shyamnagar and Assasuni upazilas of Satkhira.
🔹 On 14 May, the upazila-level inception meeting was held at the Shyamnagar Officers’ Club, presided over by Shyamnagar Upazila Women Affairs Officer Sharid Bin Shafik. Representatives from local government departments, CPP, JIHA members, civil society, journalists, and community representatives participated actively in the discussion.
🔹 Earlier, on 4 May, another inception meeting was organized at the Assasuni Model Mosque Hall Room. The event was attended by Assasuni UNO Shyamananda Kundu as Chief Guest, along with officials from the Women Affairs, Agriculture, and Livestock Departments, local government representatives, journalists, and development workers. Participants shared valuable recommendations for effective project implementation.
