Another Saturday night at Colorado National Speedway! 🏁

The weather tried to interfere with a rainy start to the day, but thankfully the track dried out and we were able to get some racing in!

🏁 Main Event Results:
🥉 Ayva — 3rd
🏁 Kaylie — 5th
🏁 James — 10th

Ayva had another strong night, holding steady with clean lines and great speed throughout the race and bringing home a solid 3rd-place finish!

Kaylie continues to pick up speed and get faster each week. During the dash, she had a scary moment when contact with another driver nearly sent her rolling. Thankfully, she was able to keep it on all four and came back for the main to finish 5th!

James is still working his way back up to speed after his accident and is understandably a little more cautious behind the wheel right now. More than anything, we’re incredibly proud of him for even getting back in the car and racing again after what he went through. That alone takes a lot of courage. The speed and confidence will come back with time — right now, we’re just happy to see him out there doing it again. ❤️

🏁 CARS Tour West – 3-Day Race Weekend Recap 🏁

This post is definitely late, but life has been BUSY the past two weeks! 😂 Better late than never, so here’s our recap from the 3-day race weekend at Colorado National Speedway!

Three straight days of racing, a lot of seat time, and plenty of action for all three JAKalope Racing drivers.

Day 1 – Puzzle Effect Track Masters
🏁 Ayva – 5th
🏁 James – 8th
🏁 Kaylie – 9th

We were still working through some kinks with James’ car, but got through the first night and turned our focus toward Day 2.

Day 2 – CARS Tour West Pro Late Models
🥈 Ayva – 2nd
🏁 James – 7th
🏁 Kaylie – 9th

Ayva had a great run and brought home a 2nd-place finish!

Day 3 – O’Reilly Day at the Races
🏁 Ayva – 4th
🏁 Kaylie – 7th
🏁 James – 8th

Three days. Three races. A whole lot of laps.

It was a long weekend at the track, but we’re proud of all three kids for sticking with it and battling through each day. We learned a lot, made progress, and came away with some solid finishes — including a podium for Ayva!

🏁Hiway 92 Raceway Recap — 7/25

We’re a little late getting this one posted, but Gering was definitely an interesting night!

After making the 4-hour drive out to Hiway 92 Raceway in Gering, Nebraska, we ended up battling two rain delays and plenty of action on the track.

James started P2 in the dash. After a restart, going through turn 1 into turn 2, he got pushed up into the wall. The hit ruined his hood and spindle, ending his dash early.

Another rain delay rolled in later that night, and with the track not even sure they’d be able to get the main feature in, we decided to skip it, load everything up, and start the 4-hour drive back home.

Definitely a long trip for a short night of racing! Not exactly how we planned for Gering to go, but sometimes that’s just racing. 🏁

A little late getting this posted, but here’s our Day 1 recap from the CARS Tour West three-day weekend! 🏁

We spent a good part of the night chasing gremlins in James’ car and working through a few mechanical issues, but that’s all part of racing. We’ll keep turning wrenches, making adjustments, and getting after it.

Day 1 Results:
🏁 Ayva – 5th
🏁 James – 7th
🏁 Kaylie – 8th

We’re proud of all three kids for continuing to push and giving it everything they had on the track. Every lap gives us something to build on, and we’re excited to keep improving throughout the weekend.

About a week and a half ago, our family experienced one of the scariest moments we've ever had at the racetrack. We hadn't shared much sooner because our focus was exactly where it needed to be—on James and his recovery.

James was involved in a horrific crash that sent his car flipping multiple times. By God's grace, he walked away with a sprained ankle, plenty of bruises, a cut on his ankle, and a whole lot of soreness. We know the outcome could have been so much different, and we are incredibly thankful for God's protection over him.

We also want to take a moment to thank everyone who rallied around our family that night. To all of the racers, crew members, and friends from so many different classes who came running to check on James in the pits, thank you. Your kindness, prayers, and support meant more to us than words can express.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to the Colorado National Speedway staff and EMTs. Your quick response, professionalism, and care in such a chaotic moment gave us confidence that James was in the best hands possible. We are incredibly grateful for everything you did that night.

We also want to recognize the incredible nurses, doctors, and staff at Children's Hospital for taking such great care of James and giving us peace of mind during a very difficult night.

We're also so proud of all three of our racers. ❤️

🏁 Ayva drove an incredible race and brought home a hard-earned 4th-place finish. Her determination never stops inspiring us.

🏁 Kaylie battled all night and earned a strong 5th-place finish. We couldn't be prouder of the grit and heart she showed.

🏁 James's night ended much sooner than any of us expected, but the only finish that truly mattered was seeing him walk away. For that, we are endlessly thankful.

Looking back, we're reminded that racing is about so much more than trophies and checkered flags. It's about faith, family, and a community that shows up for one another when it matters most. We are truly blessed and grateful for every message, prayer, every helping hand, and every act of kindness we received.

🏁 Race Day! 🏁

It’s race night, and the JAKalope Racing crew is ready to hit the track! The cars are prepped, the team is fired up, and we’re looking forward to a great night of racing.

We spent our 4th of July weekend doing what we love most—racing at Hiway 92 Raceway in Gering, Nebraska!

The weekend brought both challenges and celebrations.

Ayva faced an unfortunate setback after going into the wall, but the most important thing is that she's safe. Racing can be unforgiving, and we're thankful she walked away okay. We'll get the car repaired and be back stronger.

James had an outstanding night, driving his way to 1st Place in the Bandolero Outlaws Main Feature! 🏆 His hard work, determination, and focus paid off with an incredible victory, and we couldn't be prouder.

Kaylie may not have ended up in Victory Lane, but she put in the work all weekend and continued to improve every time she hit the track. Her dedication, positive attitude, and willingness to keep learning make us just as proud. Progress doesn't always show up on the results sheet, but it absolutely shows on the track.

Weekends like these remind us that racing is about so much more than trophies. It's about perseverance, learning from adversity, celebrating victories, and growing together as a family.

A huge thank you to everyone at Hiway 92 Raceway, our fellow competitors, our supporters, friends, and family for making another memorable race weekend possible.

🏁 Race #4 at Colorado National Speedway 🏁

Another exciting night for JAKalope Racing!

💥 James battled his way to a 4th-place finish.
💥 Ayva drove a strong race to bring home 5th.
💥 Kaylie had the speed to run up front, but contact from another car changed the outcome, leaving her with a 10th-place finish.

That's racing. We learn, we regroup, and we come back stronger.
