🥊 A MILESTONE FOR INDEPENDENT BOXING SAMOA INC. 🇼🇸

Today marks a very special milestone for Independent Boxing Samoa Inc. (IBSInc) — for the first time in our organisation’s history, we have acquired an asset of our own: a second-hand minivan dedicated to the development of boxing in Samoa. 🚐🥊

The vehicle was blessed last week at Tuanaimato by Deacon Fata Faleata, marking the beginning of a new chapter for IBSInc.

President Tavui Tautaiolevasamanaia Tanuvasa Mike Lemisio expressed his great happiness and gratitude, acknowledging the many families, supporters and friends of boxing who have contributed through our boxing events, including those who supported by purchasing tables. Through careful saving and commitment, these contributions have helped make this vehicle possible.

This minivan will be presented to our Coach and Boxing Legend, Toaletai David Tua, to support the ongoing development of boxing and, in particular, the transportation of our young athletes to and from the Boxing Academy, training, competitions and development programmes.

🥊 IBSINC INTER-SCHOOL BOXING COMPETITION – POSTPONED

The Independent Boxing Samoa Inc. (IBSInc) Executive Committee sincerely and humbly apologises to all our schools, principals, parents, teachers and young boxers for postponing the Inter-School Boxing Competition, originally scheduled for 19–21 August 2026, to the October 2026 school holidays.

This decision allows IBSInc to give our full commitment to preparing and hosting the Oceania Boxing Championship from 4–12 September 2026.

The additional time will also allow our schools to continue with boxing clinics, training and preparation so our young boxers can be better prepared for October.

🙏 We sincerely thank all principals, teachers, parents and students for your understanding, patience and continued support.

More than just a boxing clinic, this is part of our “Bullying-Free Schools Campaign”, encouraging every student to choose respect over violence, courage over fear, and kindness over bullying.

Through the powerful life story and inspirational message of Toaletai David Tua, students will learn that true strength is not about fighting others—it is about self-control, discipline, respect, and standing up for those who need support.

Commonwealth Games 2026 – Glasgow, Scotland

To our athletes, coaches, officials, supporters, sponsors, and the people of Samoa—fa’afetai tele lava for standing with us throughout our Commonwealth Games journey.

Representing Samoa on the international stage was a privilege and an honour. Every bout, every round, and every challenge has made us stronger. While this chapter has come to an end, our mission continues.

Now it’s time to:

Our focus now shifts to the 2026 Inter-School Boxing Competition in August and the Regional Oceania Boxing Championships in September as we continue developing the next generation of champions.
