What an incredible milestone for UVI MSC and the Virgin Islands!
UVI MSC is proud to celebrate its second SANE/SART training, hosted in partnership with the Georgia SAFE network through HRSA support. This important effort reflects the MSC’s commitment to workforce development, improved healthcare quality and safety in the USVI, and the continued expansion of EMS and multidisciplinary training opportunities across the Territory.
By welcoming 15 new members to the USVI SART team — including nurses, Department of Justice victims advocates, and law enforcement officers — this training strengthens the trauma-informed, survivor-centered response our community deserves.
We are proud of this growing partnership and the lasting impact it will have on survivor care, interagency coordination, and the overall health and safety of our Territory.

Celebrating 56 Years of Excellence in EMS 🚑
The University of the Virgin Islands Medical Simulation Center (UVI MSC) and our Authorized EMT Training Program are proud to join partners across the nation in celebrating the 56th anniversary of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
Since 1970, the National Registry has been a cornerstone of excellence in emergency medical services—establishing consistent national standards for testing and certification and strengthening the quality of prehospital care in communities everywhere.
At UVI MSC, we are honored to stand with the educators, clinicians, researchers, and EMS leaders who have advanced this vital profession. Through innovative, simulation‑based training and strong community partnerships, we are preparing the next generation of competent, confident, and compassionate EMS professionals right here in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to:
✅ Delivering high‑quality, simulation‑enhanced EMS education and training
✅ Strengthening workforce readiness across the Territory and region
✅ Building collaborative partnerships that improve patient outcomes and system resilience
