The Premiere Clydesdale Running Event in the United States of America taking place at 12:00pm on Saturday, August 19, 2023

All must complete (3) stops on course which will include the consumption of a Fenway Frank (condiments optional) and a 12oz beer. The Course is 4.7 miles over rural roads, thru farmland and downtown Margaretville, NY. There will be an all women volunteer corp-all interested ladies please contact Papa Clyde @ [email protected]

It is open to all men who weigh 190lbs.+ however we do allow a few skinnies to participate�

Not long after 911 we had our weekly Thursday night race dedicated to the 911 deceased & survivors from the VFW Logan Post in Somerville, Massachusetts

Belayneh Dinsamo the first man to run sub 2:07 (2:06:50) at Rotterdam had been hanging out with us all summer on the Charles River at the American Legion Marsh Post but never running...his kids and wife ran but not Belayneh which for me as a race director was very disappointing.

Well on the night of our 911 Memotial race in Somerville, Massachusetts....who shows up but Belayneh and Tesfye Bekele! Tesfye had won many international marathons including the Khoury's Thursday Night 4.13 Miler and Belayneh showed up to run in support of 91I

I had a dilemna tho.....our summer course on the Charles River was an easy path loop around the river and over the bridges...our course in Somerville was a left and right course on the roads during a pretty busy time in the city.

I looked at the krewe running and said "who thinks they can hang with Belayneh so that he doesn't get lost"? ....Big Man Run Winner, Matt Corcoran raised his hand and said "I'll do the best I can"

17 or 18 minutes later....Matty wins the race with Belayneh coming in 2nd....hours and many b**rs later I quietly asked Matty how he beat Belayneh and Matty says "Papa Clyde, he stopped at every intersection and waited for me to catch up and then he let me lead him in"

I have never forgotten that night....a World Class Ethiopian Marathoner showed up to support our 911 Memorial and the USA....there was no talk about blue or red, libtard or maggot just a whole bunch of Americans & Ethiopians who had all been deeply and collectively touched by 911.

Got a nuevo route to my farm in the Catskill Mountains that is akin to a slow boat to Poughkeepsie that takes me by the Hot Dog Ranch in Pittsfield, Massachusetts....its a lil to far for a nuevo #3 Aid Station @ Big Man Run XXVII "Let's Do It Again" but I thought what the hell....they serv lil dogs not the Big Boyo style back home which seems to be the culture out here in Western Massachusetts.....great stop☘️

Big Daddy Kenney started out running side by side with Corey but in the end Big Daddy Kenney whupped Corey by a solid 9 minutes.....regardless of who won...Ms Kenney aka Crozier was a winner as she had two Big Men to plant a kiss on as did Mrs Kenney👍

It was Father & Son Day on Saturday @ Big Man Run XXVI "The Next Generation" and it was different generations

Adam and wee Jack Bodner the Early Years, Jim & JB Whitemore the Middle Years and Jack & Kevin Walsh the Golden Years together.

My own ole man passed away in October 2025 and it was good to see the father & son participation....its not new @ BMR but it was extra special for me in 2026.

My own ole man volunteered at my very first road race that I ever directed - Khoury's Road Race aka Little Flower School Road Race in 1992 and Khoury's was where BMR began in 1996.
