Fighting at a weight class well below your current walking weight sounds great as motivation to trim down, but may set you up for issues later on. Too many fighters are not eating enough and restricting foods in an effort to trim down at any cost only to binge on everything afterwards. Weighing themselves on the scale also becomes an obsession instead of data to guide a process 👎🏾


The truth is that you signed up to be a fighter because you enjoy competing…you did not sign up to be a strength & conditioning coach or nutritionist. Trying to drop a bunch of weight with a hard deadline is not a good idea and leads to a number of crazy things that fighters do to make weight. Trained professionals know how to take out the guesswork to allow you to focus on fighting, but more importantly…will tell you when something such as huge weight cut is a terrible idea 💯


We’ve helped plenty of fighters trim down properly, maintain an ideal walking weight, and have smooth weight cuts with a science based approach. Our fighters are fueled well for their fight camps instead of treating them like a fat camp. We also have the difficult conversations needed to seek help when we suspect that a fighter may be having an issue with food 🔑
