As we celebrate 3 years of Coastal Alchemy this weekend, it’s hard to put into words how special it was that WHYY featured our year-round walks as a part of You Oughta Know Let’s Move segment.

Walking has a been a big part of my health journey not just physically but mentally. Having the opportunity to cultivate spaces and opportunities where people can move and get to know each other better is incredibly special. I’m so grateful to everyone we cross paths with and Scout Café for creating such a welcoming space for the community.

Thank you so much to Shirley Min Moody Paulie Parms and crew for doing such a wonderful job of encapsulating the heart of what we do. And a special thank you to those who came out to film with us and Mal Ann Saskia Genovese and Giovanni Penagos for sharing your stories of Coastal Alchemy.

Forgot to take a group photo at Book Club tonight because the discussion about Mattering by Jennifer Breheny Wallace was so good. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this book. We all deserve to feel valued, and it’s so important for us to add value.

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us tonight and Thepost1715 for always providing us with the best food and hospitality.

We were able to enjoy the outside patio, soaking up the last days of summer. Our next Book Club will be on November 11th, where we will discuss Gloria Steinem’s memoir, An Unexpected Life.

We’re heading to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina October 1–3 for a chance to step away from the day-to-day, spend time in nature, explore new places and create new connections with likeminded women.

Over the weekend, we’ll gather for yoga, a mindful hike, creative workshop, guided nature experiences, campfire conversations, and plenty of time to slow down and enjoy the mountains.

Your retreat includes two nights of accommodations, five meals, coffee and pastries, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, and all retreat programming.

We have just 2 rooms left, and registration closes September 15.

It’s hard to believe we’re celebrating 3 years of Coastal Alchemy this month.

Nearly 150 gatherings later, we’ve walked, talked, created, read books, journaled, practiced yoga, meditated, explored new places, and made so many new connections along the way. I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has found their way to this community.

It felt appropriate to celebrate 3 years in one of our favorite ways to gather — with coffee and a walk starting at Scout Café, a place that has been a special part of Coastal Alchemy since the very beginning.

Whether this is your first gathering, you’re still getting to know us, or you’ve been here since the beginning, we’d love to see you there.

Sunday, Sept. 13
10am–12pm (walk starts at 10:30am)

We hope you’ll come celebrate with us — all are welcome! We’ll meet for coffee from 10–10:30am, walk for about an hour, and then come back to Scout for conversation.
