In my feels as I think about the past 5 months with this team. We’ve gone through so much in such a short amount of time together and suddenly we’ve reached “crunch time” and it really came out of no where.
We’ve come in twice a week and worked on skills that some had never even dreamed of trying, cleaned up a two minute and 30 second routine, and started forming bonds that will become unbreakable. Come January, we’ll look back on this time right now where we’re beginning to feel all the jitters and wonders about how this routine will score and we’ll think to ourselves, “wow, we really made it out of that didn’t we?”
The injuries, the unknowns, the things completely out of our control… those are the things that bring us together and get us what we REALLY want when we step out on the mat. Friendship, love, family, unity. What we strive for is to be in sync with one another and I’m not just talking timing in the routine. I’m talking about how we think, how we show support for each other, how we have each others backs, and how we take care of business on the mat next to each other. The trust we have in one another when the time comes.
Cheerleading is HARD on the mind and on the body. This sport was never meant for the weak and if I know anything, it’s that the 19 girls on this team who wear North Stars across their chests are anything but weak. They’re strong, resilient, and they’re ready. 🩵 Just cannot even wait to see you all take the mat together in 11 days. Let’s go Legacy.. you make me so proud already 🥹
