The Newton Rebels are proud to announce Tony Trujillo as the organization’s new General Manager.

A born-and-raised Wichitan, Tony brings years of coaching, leadership and baseball experience to the Rebels.

Tony graduated from Tabor College and began coaching in the KCLB with the Dirtbag Baseball Club in 2019. He served as Vice President and coach from 2019–2023, helping lead the organization to an SBS National Championship in 2022.

From 2019–2025, Tony also served as an assistant coach at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School. He will now continue his coaching career as an assistant coach at Southwestern College under Coach Carvalho.

With a strong connection to the Kansas baseball community and a passion for developing players, Tony is ready to help lead the next chapter of Newton Rebel baseball.

“I am honored and excited to carry on the rich history of Newton Rebel baseball in the community. I hope to provide something the town of Newton can continue to be proud of and a place ball players from around the country want to be a part of.”

Newton is happening this weekend!

Whether you’re headed to the theater, catching a ball game, checking out community events, or simply looking for somewhere to relax with friends, make Moxie Community Pub part of your weekend.

Friday, July 17: 5–8 PM
We welcome Craig Steward to our Live Music Happy Hour while Whatevers Cookin’ serves up dinner. Followed by Karaoke with Songbird Sara. Come sing, cheer on your friends, or simply enjoy the show.

Saturday, July 18: 6:00 PM Newton Rebels Double Header! Moxie Mobile will be there with cold b**r and ballpark hotdogs!

Back on the pub patio, 80 Proof Alice takes the stage @ 8 PM. This is a bluegrass band you won’t want to miss. Burger Depot will be serving their burgers, sandwiches, and famous fresh cut fries.
