Maybe “I'm fine” isn't even dishonest.

Maybe you genuinely don't know what else to say because you've spent so much time thinking about:

What needs to happen?
Who needs me?
What do they need?
What's next?
What am I forgetting?

…that “What do I need?” can feel like a surprisingly difficult question.

And that's why I don't want to give you another list of things you're supposed to do for yourself.

I want you to get quiet enough to hear your own answer.

So here's today's MOMent™:
What do I need right now?

Don't answer with what you need to accomplish.
Don't answer for your children.
Don't answer for work.
Don't answer with what everybody needs from you.

What do YOU need?

See what comes up.

09/24/2026

This isn't really about replaying the conversation.
It's about what you're looking for when you replay it.

Did I sound smart enough?
Did I say too much?
Did they misunderstand me?
Did I disappoint somebody?
Did I get it right?
Did they think I belonged there?

Sometimes you're not reviewing the conversation because you need to learn something.

You're reviewing it because you're still looking for proof that you were okay in the room.

So the next time you catch yourself doing the post-meeting meeting, ask:

Am I learning from this or am I looking for something to criticize about myself?

Because those are not the same thing.

09/24/2026

This is one I've had to catch in myself because you can accomplish something you once wondered if you'd ever be able to do…

and eventually start treating it like it was nothing.

You normalize the thing you fought for.

Then move the finish line.
And start measuring yourself against the next version of your life.

So I've been asking a different question:
When does what I've already done get to count?

Ambition isn't the problem.
Wanting more isn't the problem.

But I don't want to become so focused on where I'm going that I keep disrespecting the woman who got me here.

Let this one count.

Then keep walking.

09/23/2026

What are you ready to put down?

And before you start making a list of everything you need to stop doing…that's not where we're going

Some of the things you've been carrying for so long don't even feel like something you're carrying anymore.

They sound like:
“I’ll just do it.”
“If I don’t do it, it won’t get done.”
“I should be able to handle this.”
“I can’t let them down.”
“It’s easier if I do it myself.”
You say it. Handle it. Keep moving.

But when was the last time you stopped and asked:
Do I actually want to keep doing it this way?

That's what we're talking about in this week's Weekly MOMent™.

And yes, I'm out of town, so I recorded this one for us but I'm planning to be right here in the comments with you. So talk back to me while you watch.

This isn't about me telling you what you need to put down.

I want you to start noticing what you've been picking up without even thinking about it. And if this conversation hits a little close to home, come join me for Put It Down™.

Five days.
Free.
September 28–October 2.

We're going to look together.

You don't need some big answer before you come.
You don't even need to know what you're putting down yet.

Come willing to look.

And before you leave, finish this sentence in the comments:
I think I might be ready to put down __________.

And if you have absolutely no idea yet?

“I’m still looking.”

That counts too ďż˝

09/23/2026

“I got it.”

Two little words.

And depending on the day, they can mean a whole lot more.

Sometimes:
I got it = I genuinely want to handle this.
And sometimes:
I got it = explaining it feels like more work.
I got it = I don't want to remind you.
I got it = I've been disappointed before.
I got it = waiting makes me uncomfortable.
I got it = I already know I can depend on myself.

And that's why I'm less interested in telling you to “just ask for help.”

I want you to notice what happens right before you decide you don't need any.

The next time “I got it” comes out of your mouth, give yourself a MOMent™.

Ask:
Do I actually want to have this or am I just used to taking it?

That answer might tell you something.

09/23/2026

You can have receipts everywhere.

The career.
The things you've accomplished.
The hard seasons you've made it through.
The people who trust you.
The people who tell you they're proud of you.

And still hear:
“Do more.”
“You should be further.”
“Don't mess this up.”
“You still haven't done enough.”

And that's the conversation I'm interested in... because sometimes you don't even realize you're listening to it anymore.

You just make the next decision from it.

Work harder.
Say yes.
Prove yourself.
Take on one more thing.
Move the finish line again.

And this is exactly the kind of thing we're going to start noticing inside Put It Down™.

I'm not going to spend five days telling you what you need to change.
I'm not going to tell you what you're supposed to put down.

I want to help you hear what you've been saying to yourself long enough for YOU to decide whether you still agree with it.

That's different.

September 28–October 2, we're having that conversation together.

5️⃣ days. Free.

And you don't have to show up with some big revelation.
You don't need to know what you're putting down yet.
Come willing to look.

You did it.
You just didn't let it count.

Before you could acknowledge what you finished, your mind had already moved to what was left.

So here's today's MOMent™:
When does what you did get to count?

Before the next task.
Before the next goal.
Before you tell yourself what you should've done.

Let this one count first.

And this? This is why I'm doing Put It Down™.

I don't think you need five days of me telling you to do less.
I want to give you five days to notice things like this.

The sentence you say without thinking.
The thing you automatically take responsibility for.
The accomplishment you barely acknowledge.
The moment you almost let somebody help—and then take it right back.
The thought that has been making decisions before you realize you're having it.

Five days to notice because you can't choose differently around something you haven't even noticed you're doing.

Put It Down™ starts September 28. It's 🆓.

You don't need to know what you're putting down yet.
Come willing to look.

I really like this one because we're not selling “5 DAYS TO TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE!!!”

We're selling what Put It Down™ actually does:

Come notice.

09/22/2026

Some of us have turned enjoyment into a reward.

I'll go after I finish this.
I'll rest after I handle that.
I'll do something for myself when things calm down.
I'll celebrate when I get to the next goal.
I'll enjoy it when…

Meanwhile, life keeps life-ing 😂

There will probably always be something unfinished.

Somebody who needs something.
Something you could be working on.
Something you could improve.

And I don't want to keep postponing my own life waiting for a magical day when everything is handled.

So yes.
Take the trip.
Eat the food.
Laugh loudly.
Take the picture.

Enjoy the MOMent™ you're actually standing in.

Your life doesn't only count when you're being useful.

09/21/2026

You can be sitting completely still and still be handling things in your head.

Running tomorrow.
Replaying today.
Remembering what somebody needs.
Thinking about what you forgot.
Preparing for something that hasn't even happened yet.

And because nobody can see that part, sometimes you don't count it either.

You just wonder why you're tired.

But here's the thing: You can't put down something you haven't noticed you're carrying.

And THAT is why I created Put It Down™.

We're not spending five days making another list of everything you need to stop doing.

We're slowing it down long enough to notice:
What do I automatically handle?
Why does it feel like my job?
What do I think will happen if I don't?
And what is doing it this way actually costing me?

You don't have to know the answers before you come.
You don't even need to know what you're putting down yet.

Come willing to look.

Okay, this one might get us in trouble 😂

You want help.

Then somebody starts helping and you're standing there thinking:

Why are you doing it like that?
Did you remember the other thing?
It's taking you forever.

And here comes…
“Never mind. I'll just do it.”

Listen. I know 😭

Wanting someone to take something off your plate and being comfortable with how they carry it once you hand it over is totally different things.

That part is worth noticing too.

So tell me the truth:
Which is harder for you... ASKING for help or letting somebody do it THEIR way?
