What if working out didn’t actually feel like work? 🌲

…and putting yourself first felt natural.

What if you knew how to help calm your nervous system 😮💨, shifting from “fight or flight” into “rest and digest”?

You might feel more present, grounded, and clear instead of stuck in racing thoughts. 🧘🏻♀️

Finding movement you genuinely enjoy can help make that possible. When you make it part of your routine, exercise can support so many areas of your health.

Find what you ENJOY and make it part of your routine. When you choose movement that feels right for you, it becomes something you actually look forward to.

For me, it’s making time to walk outside each day and planning weekend hikes.

It becomes my:

Movement meditation
Exercise
Nervous system reset
Connection with nature, myself, and others

…all wrapped into one habit.

And you can find that too. It will look different for everyone.

What’s one thing that energizes you, moves you, and supports your well-being? Maybe it’s something you already love, or something you’ve been wanting to try. 💛

Symptoms can feel like a constant problem-solving project.

Something feels off, so we research it. Try another diet. Add a supplement. Change our workout. Track another number. Find the next thing we need to “fix.”

But in my coaching, I don’t immediately jump to another solution.

First, I get curious.

Why might your body be responding this way?

We might start with a symptom, a habit you can’t seem to change, an emotion, or even something you keep saying about yourself. Then we follow that thread to see what’s underneath it.

Sometimes we find a practical need around nutrition, movement, sleep, or routines.

Sometimes we uncover a stress response, belief, or subconscious pattern that’s been influencing your behavior without you realizing it. Often, both are part of the picture.

But there’s one thing for sure: your body guides the direction.

Then we can work with your nervous system to create a different response and make the practical changes that support where you want to go.

That’s the difference for me.

I don’t just want to give you another list of things to do. I want to help you understand why your current response makes sense so we can change what actually needs changing.

The frustration is real…

It’s easy to get frustrated with your body when you’re bloated again, exhausted even though you slept, craving sugar every afternoon, or just not feeling like yourself.

We usually want to know how to make the symptom go away. Like, FAST.

And of course I want that too for you. But when I’m coaching, I like to get curious about why it’s showing up and what patterns surround it.

When did it start? When does it get better or worse? What’s happening with your food, sleep, movement, hormones, stress, or routines around the same time?

And we can even go a layer deeper.

What was happening when it showed up? What were you feeling? Is there a recurring stress response, belief, or subconscious pattern that seems to show up alongside it?

That’s where my approach is a little different. We can work on the practical things like nutrition and lifestyle while also working with your nervous system and exploring the deeper patterns that may be keeping you stuck in the same response.

We’re not assuming every symptom has one hidden emotional cause, but looking at the whole picture and following the clues your body is giving us.

💛 Follow Madalyn Baer | Nervous System & Fitness Coach if you want to understand your body on a deeper level instead of only trying to make the symptoms disappear.

For a long time, health taught us to look at our bodies and ask, “How do I change this?”

How do I lose the weight? Fix my digestion? Get more energy? Stop the cravings? Get myself to work out consistently?

But 10 years dealing with my health and finally learning about the nervous system, I learned to ask a different question first:

What is my body trying to tell me?

Because sometimes the thing we’re trying SO HARD to change is actually giving us a message.

In my coaching, I don’t stop at nutrition, workouts, or a better routine. I get curious with the people I work with about what’s happening underneath.

- Maybe there’s a stress response your body keeps falling into
- A belief that’s been running in the background for years
- Or a pattern behind a behavior that you haven’t been able to change by simply knowing what you “should” do.

We follow those clues, work with the nervous system to create a different response, and then use nutrition, movement, and lifestyle changes to support it.

Because lasting change isn’t about controlling your body better. (Trust me, I’ve tried that 🙋🏻‍♀️)

Finally understanding what has been driving the pattern you’re trying to change creates the transformation.

💛 Follow Madalyn Baer | Nervous System & Fitness Coach for a different way to approach your health—one that’s NOT about the next best plan, but gets curious about what’s happening underneath.

Your brain and gut are constantly communicating through a powerful connection called the vagus nerve. 📡

But when stress builds up, that communication can get disrupted.

You might notice:
⚡ Energy crashes
🍭 More cravings
🥲 Bloating or painful PMS
💤 Trouble sleeping, even when you're tired

This is the stress-gut connection. When your nervous system senses that something isn't safe, digestion and metabolism can take a back seat.

Before changing your entire diet or adding another supplement, pause and ask:

🖊️ “What do I need today?”

Then honor one answer.

Maybe it's eating lunch on time, ending work a little earlier, or taking a walk before starting your day.

Small choices can be the beginning of nervous system regulation.

Remember: Your body can’t fully digest, energize, or repair when it’s stuck in “fight or flight.”

Your nervous system responds to more than obvious stress. Deadlines, perfectionism, food guilt, and always being “on” can all send the same stress signal.

When your body stays in stress mode, you may notice:
• afternoon crashes
• bloating or poor digestion
• restless sleep
• hormone changes
• food anxiety

The answer isn’t always another diet or harder workout. Sometimes, your body needs a chance to slow down, feel safe, and recover.

When you slash calories and stack intense workouts on top of each other, your body doesn’t always think, “glow up.”

It thinks: 🚨 DANGER.

And when your body feels like it needs to protect you, it can shift into survival mode instead of supporting the results you’re looking for.

That’s when you may start noticing:

• Worse PMS
• Irregular or missing periods
• Low progesterone
• Stubborn, puffy weight
• Mood swings
• Exhaustion that no supplement seems to fix
• Bloating and discomfort

Your body isn’t working against you. It’s communicating with you.

Sometimes, the answer isn’t eating less and doing more. It’s giving your body enough food, rest, recovery, and consistency to feel safe again. 🤍

Your body is sending signals. Don’t ignore them — connect the dots.

If I worked out hard or not at all, it didn’t matter.

My body backfired. And it was FRUSTRATING. Not understanding why my body felt against me, no matter how hard I tried to understand.

After 8+ years of teaching online and in-studio fitness classes as an AFAA certified instructor and walking on my own healing journey, I found I was missing a BIG piece.

The culture of fitness is to push through workouts. And you get compliments when you go above and beyond your limits.

But that doesn’t mean your body feels the same way.

👉🏼Your body needs variety of movement to honor your hormones, energy, and nervous system because that’s adjusting to what your body is saying.

So all of the struggling with inflammation and slow metabolism… it’s just our bodies asking “please, can you adjust to why I need?”

💪🏼 I created InSync Fitness because after a decade of my own experience, I finally understood how teaching to listen to your body—even when it comes to fitness—can take your health to a new level. ⭐️

I teach online classes:
POWER
FLOW
RESTORE
BREATHE

To offer exactly what your nervous system needs based on your cycle (if you have a period) or energy (if you don’t have a period or are perimenopausal).

When you turn off sneaky stress signals, your metabolism finds its rhythm again. ❤️
