In Maryland, any stable that solicits the public—including boarding barns, lesson programs, rental facilities, rescues, and sanctuaries—is required by law to be licensed by the Maryland Horse Industry Board. Licensure includes inspections and ongoing compliance with state regulations that protect both horses and the public.

We’re proud to have been fully licensed since 2024. We believe accountability isn’t optional—it’s essential to earning the trust of our donors, supporters, and the community we serve.

If you’re considering working with a rescue, sanctuary, boarding stable, or lesson barn in Maryland, we encourage you to verify that they’re properly licensed. It’s one of the simplest ways to ensure they’re operating legally and meeting state-established standards.
