The Fire Pride Project began in 2007 at Firehouse 14 in Tucson, AZ. Now based in Pasadena, CA, it continues that mission today.

Started by a firefighter for firefighters, it grew into a way to build pride in departments and stations.

• Tucson Fire Department Tucson Fire was dispatched to a house fire in the 9600 block of East Harkes Drive at 10:44 last night following reports of a lightning strike.

Engine 19 arrived seven minutes later and reported some flames on the roof of a two-story home. Crews from Quint 17 located a hole in the roof.

The lightning struck solar panels on the roof, damaging the home’s electrical panel. The breaker blew, which likely prevented further damage. Rain also helped extinguish the flames.

The fire was declared under control at 11:07.
No injuries were reported. Two residents have been displaced.
