SHACADEMY has grown from a lifetime spent working, coaching and playing outdoors.

We bring together practical coaching, training, water safety and operational experience to help people and organisations develop their skills, their teams and the places they operate.

Sometimes that’s coaching someone one-to-one. Sometimes it’s developing a lifeguard team. Sometimes it’s helping an outdoor venue solve a problem. And sometimes it’s simply knowing the right person to bring into the conversation.

It’s early days. We’re not trying to be everything to everyone — just somewhere useful experience, good people and practical thinking can come together.

Courtesy - Zane Saenz Stoked to finish Second place in the Molokai to Oahu Paddleboard paddle race, crossing the Kaiwi channel for the first time! It has been a dream of mine since I was little to do this race 32 miles of open ocean, and finally this year everything came together for me to do it! Only about two minutes away from first place, it was an intense battle the whole time. At the very end my body started shutting down, paddling upwind, and struggling to catch waves in, but excited to finish in a bit over 5 hours.
