We’re doubling our space at Define139! Our “back room” is open! 🙌💪

This has been a long process, squeezed in between a wedding, running a business, and getting our youngest started on his senior year. Whew! ❤️

It was definitely a family affair, with everyone pitching in to help make it happen. Seeing it all come together makes us so proud and grateful.

To our current members: thank you for growing with us! And to the ones we haven’t met yet: we’re making room for you, too. We’re so excited for what’s ahead! 🎉

I joke that Erika is one of the best things I ever found at the mall. 😁💛

She adds a lot of life and personality to our gym. We are very thankful to know her!

You can read about her experience with Define139 Women's Strength Studio below.

“Growing up as an athlete, I was always active. But I never actually learned how to properly train in a gym and honestly it just felt intimidating. The rows of machines, the pressure to know exactly what to do, and the toxic diet culture made it hard to stick with anything. That all changed when I found Define 139. Who knew walking into the mall that day to help my step-daughter set up her sourdough business I would meet Greta, who was peddling her fitness business, and start a new journey?!?!

Now that I’m in my 👆40s, my body and my goals are different. I wanted to build real strength, boost my metabolism, and feel good in my own skin. It’s no longer about being skinny. It is more about being healthy, balanced and strong. 💪 Define 139 provided the exact space I needed. It is a completely comfortable, zero-judgment environment filled with women lifting each other up. The app is a game changer. I never have to think or worry about what exercise to complete or how many reps. I get step by step training and motivation. I truly love it here! 🏋️”

Member Spotlight 💡
Jacinda Santon Smith

I began a health and wellness journey in May 2022. By focusing on my nutrition and walking daily, I lost 170 pounds and reached my goal weight in April 2025. What I didn’t realize at the time was that significant weight loss can also mean considerable muscle loss when strength training isn’t part of the equation.

My daughter, Kate, has been consistently weight training for years and encouraged me to give it a try. With Kate cheering me on, I signed up for personal training with Sophie—and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

The workouts are challenging but doable, and something I never thought I’d say is now true: I genuinely look forward to my three sessions every week! Sophie is incredibly encouraging and supportive. She gives me the feedback and corrections I need as a newbie lifter while tailoring every session to my abilities and goals. She even developed a completely customized balance and mobility routine for me when I was temporarily placed on a heavy-lifting restriction after surgery.

I truly cannot say enough about Define 139. The time, care, and effort that Greta, Greg, and Sophie pour into their members is unmatched. In such a short time, their program has changed my life in ways I never expected.

I look and feel stronger every week, but even more importantly, I know I’m investing in my health, independence, and longevity. I discovered a genuine love of strength training—and for that, I will always be grateful.

Trying to lose weight? You might be doing some of the very things that are making it harder. 👀

There are 3 things we see women do ALL the time when they decide it’s time to lose weight.

And honestly? They make sense—because they’re the things most of us have been taught to do for years.

But there’s a better way to approach fat loss.

We put together a FREE guide:

3 Things You Should NOT Do When Trying to Lose Weight

These gloves have seen a lot of life. ❤️

I bought them sometime in the late 90s, when strength training was already becoming a part of who I was.

They’ve been through thousands of workouts since then. Different gyms. Different goals. Different versions of me.

They’ve been there when I was training because I loved feeling strong—and during seasons when I was training because I was desperately trying to change my body.

They’ve been there through confidence and insecurity. Through progress and frustration. Through times when I felt really good about myself and times when I absolutely didn’t.

And somewhere along the way, strength training became about so much more than what I looked like.

It taught me that I could do hard things.

It gave me somewhere to put my stress.

It showed me what my body was capable of, instead of constantly focusing on what I wished was different about it.

It gave me confidence that followed me outside the gym.

And now, all these years later, strength matters to me in an entirely different way. I want to be strong for my life. I want to carry the heavy things, get up off the floor, stay independent, keep doing the things I love—and never stop finding out what this body can do.

Those beat-up gloves remind me that strength isn’t built in one workout, one 30-day challenge, or one perfect season.

It’s built over years of showing up. Especially through the seasons when showing up is hard.

And yes… apparently I’ve always believed lifting gloves and fresh nails go perfectly together. 😂💅💪

Some things never change. ❤️
