How many times have you told yourself…

“I’ll start again Monday.”

“After vacation.”

“When work settles down.”

“When life gets back to normal.”

But life rarely stays “normal” for very long.

That’s why I don’t think taking care of yourself should depend on following the same plan perfectly every week.

Some weeks you have more time, energy and capacity.

Other weeks, the win might be a shorter workout, a few walks, a simple breakfast, or protecting your sleep.

The goal isn’t to stay perfectly on track.

It’s learning how to adjust without giving up on yourself.

And this is something we work on in health coaching all the time.

We look at what’s happening in your actual life, decide what feels realistic right now, and keep moving forward from there.

No starting over required.

👉I’m currently accepting new health coaching clients.

If you’d like support building healthier habits that can actually flex with your life, send me a message and let’s talk.💌

Sometimes you don’t need another meal plan or someone telling you what you “should” be doing.

You just need the space to slow down, talk through what’s happening, and figure out what actually makes sense for you.

That’s exactly what happened in this coaching conversation.

She came in feeling like she was slipping.

She left understanding what had changed and, more importantly, with her own ideas for how to move forward.

This is what health coaching can look like.

I’m currently welcoming new health coaching clients. If you’ve been trying to make changes on your own and would like someone in your corner, send me a message. I’d be happy to talk about what support could look like for you.

Being a small business owner is hard, there’s nothing “small” about it.

More often than I not I’m wondering if anyone here’s me…is anyone listening…then I get a response like this and my purpose is reawakened 🩷

(This is a reply I got from today’s newsletter - If you’re bot on my monthly newsletter list and want to be, message me and I’ll get you signed up)

Maybe consistency isn’t your problem.

Maybe it’s how you’re measuring it.

So many women measure whether they’re “doing well” by one thing:

Did the scale move?

If it didn’t, it’s easy to assume nothing is working.

You get discouraged. You question the plan. And before long, you’re looking for something new.

But the scale is an outcome.

What if you measured progress by the things you can actually practice?

Did you strength train this week?

Did you eat in a way that supported your goals most of the time?

Did you get out for your walks?

Did you keep going even when the results weren’t immediate?

That’s consistency.

After years of coaching women, I’ve noticed something: the women who make lasting progress aren’t necessarily the ones who see results fastest.

They’re the ones who learn to keep showing up while paying attention to what’s working and adjusting what isn’t.

And sometimes that’s exactly where coaching helps.

Not by pushing you harder.

But by helping you see progress you may be overlooking, make adjustments when they’re actually needed, and build confidence in your ability to keep going.

Because one of the most meaningful changes isn’t just what happens to your body.

It’s becoming someone who trusts herself to take care of it.

We don’t always know what life is going to ask of us.

That’s one reason I believe so strongly in building strength as we get older.

Not simply to lift heavier weights or check off another workout, but to keep doing the things that make our lives our lives.

This client’s story is a beautiful example. Her medical team treated her cancer. My role was to support her health and movement alongside that care, adapting as her needs changed and helping her continue moving toward the life she wanted to get back to.

Today, that life includes tennis, hiking, strength training and traveling again.

This is what strength with intention means to me.

If you’re in your 60s, 70s or beyond and want to feel stronger and more confident in what your body can do, I’m here to help you find a starting point that works for you.

If you feel like you’re doing everything right and you’re still exhausted, it’s probably not about trying harder.

It’s about what you’re paying attention to.

Most women I talk to are judging how they’re doing by one thing.

Did I sleep well last night?

If the answer is no…
They assume something’s wrong with them.
They get discouraged.
They start searching for the next supplement, the next app, the next fix.

But here’s the thing.
One rough night isn’t the real story.

What actually matters is the pattern underneath it.
Your stress load.
Your evening habits.
Your body’s rhythm.

After years of coaching women over 40, I’ve noticed something.

The women who start sleeping better aren’t chasing a perfect night.

They get curious about their pattern first.

✨That’s when the real relief starts to happen.

If you’re ready to get curious, connect a little more with yourself and learn more about your patterns…

When was the last someone asked you what YOU enjoy doing?

When it comes to connecting with our body through movement, this is the most important factor…enjoyment.

Because that means you’ll actually want to fit it into your real life because it’s:
🤍Fun
🤍Feels good
🤍Easy to fit into your already busy schedule

And the pay off is not just physical…movement you actually enjoy can be the mental break in your day that you’ve been missing or even the emotional release you’ve been needing.

Do you “hate” movement but know you need to do something?

I hear this more often than you think and it’s what I help women over 40 discover.

Let’s work together to find movement that you enjoy…that feels good…that fit’s into your real life.

When everyone telling you what you NEED to be doing feels overwhelming, this is where we start.

💫 Start with clarity. Send me a DM and we can start to chat about what movement you might enjoy getting more of.

✨Do you already know how you like to move more? Share your favorite movement or exercise method in the comments.

She didn’t need a perfect plan.
She needed space to think.

That’s one of my favorite pieces about coaching women over 40.

🤍When we slow down, ask better questions, get curious instead of critical, women often discover they are more capable than they thought.

Confidence doesn’t come from doing everything perfectly.

🤍It grows from understanding yourself a little better.

If you are someone who tells yourself…”I’ll start again on Monday”, more than you’d like, click the first link in my comments to discover which of 4 common patterns best matches what your experiencing and where you can begin.

Start with Clarity🤍

She thought she was slipping.

A woman I was coaching recently felt like she’d fallen off track.

So we slowed down and started talking.

Then she stopped and said,

“Now that we’re talking through this…”

Everything shifted.

She realized she wasn’t failing.

She had simply stopped noticing what was already working.

That’s one of my favorite parts of coaching.

Not because I have the answers.

But because I get to watch women reconnect with their own.

💛 If you’ve been wondering why you don’t quite feel like yourself lately…

Start with clarity.

“Now that we’re talking through this…”

A client said those words to me during one of our coaching sessions this week.

We weren’t talking about anything dramatic. Just breakfast. She told me she’d been feeling like she’d slipped a little. One of the habits she’s worked really hard on is getting more fiber, and she’s noticed how much better she feels when she’s consistent.

So instead of trying to fix it, we just started talking.

I asked her what breakfast had looked like recently.

She thought about it for a minute.

Then she smiled and said,

“Now that we’re talking through this…”

Suddenly she could see exactly what had changed.

Not because I pointed it out.

Because she noticed it herself.

Then she started brainstorming ideas.

She even suggested taking pictures of her breakfasts this week so we could look at them together and see where she wanted to make a few adjustments.

That was her idea. And honestly… That’s one of my favorite parts of coaching.

Not because someone leaves with my answers. But because they leave trusting their own a little more.

The goal isn’t perfection. It isn’t following someone else’s plan. It’s learning to slow down long enough to notice what’s already there and realizing you’re often more capable than you thought.

Those are the moments that build confidence. And confidence is what helps healthy habits last.

💛 Those moments are why I love this work.
