Too many success stories to mention from today at AGF! Lots of students braving their first tournament, and shining! We love this crew, and it’s just the beginning for them!!!

We are so overwhelmingly proud of all our amazing kids who put it on the line today! So many medals won, so many amazing victories… most importantly so much fun and so much growth for all of them! Thankful for these incredible young warriors, and their families for showing up and supporting their kids to the max! It’s going to be great for their lives in every way going forward.

Great days on the mats! We have AGF coming up this weekend with a lot of motivated students putting it on the line. Lots of positive momentum and energy lately... we love it here!

Virginia Beach police arrested 33-year-old Timothy Allen Wegert after he squared up to an officer and attempted a spinning heel kick on the beach early Sunday morning. VBPD responded to an assault call involving Wegert and another individual. Wegert refused commands as an officer ran toward him. He then launched a spinning heel kick that narrowly missed the officer. Wegert, a former CEO and master instructor at UpLevel Martial Arts, now faces a felony charge of assault on a law enforcement officer along with misdemeanor charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct, and obstruction. CONGRATS to our loyal student and friend, Smiley Wydell Elmore Jr.! A truly great man, and treasure of our community.

TCSO appoints Smiley Elmore, the first African American man, to take over as head chaplain for the Tulsa County Jail.

Elmore has worked in the ministry for nearly 40 years, and he says it means a lot to finally step into a position to help his community.
