Tulsa Rocks with Lynn Hernandez

I just talked to Kevin Martin of Candlebox. I feel blessed to be able to bring you a conversation of the bands you hear on the radio and see on stage. He appreciates very much his fans and told me he's grateful for the 35 years of you buying their records, tickets and merch so they can keep doing their art. They are at River Spirit Casino Resort Saturday night.

I also feel blessed to be able to tell him how much this song means to me and how it reminds me of my older brother, Roy, who passed away 17 years ago.

This song came out in 2016, after my brother passed away from cancer but it just makes me think of him. He and I grew up liking bands together like Rush, The Refreshments/Roger Clyne, and Candlebox.

I asked him to play this song last time they were here. It's not a big radio song so I didn't know if he'd do it. He did.

Then, on stage, he said wrote this about a friend he met in Tulsa. She passed away of breast cancer. I couldn't help but break down as I heard these opening chords. It was transcendent.

I hope you give it a listen and think of someone you love and miss.
