Meet Sarah!🙂 We lived a street away for a long time and didn’t know it. I first met her because my church assigned me to be a sister who checked in with her and was a support if she needed it…a ministering sister.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t the friend I should have been because of fear and insecurities😔. I missed out on a year or more of friendship because I lacked confidence to just get to know someone….but we aren’t going to make this post sad….this has a happy ending!
Little did I know that HIGH Fitness would later connect us on a level much deeper than I could have ever made just “checking in” every month. Sarah started her wellness journey and consistently showed up to High Fitness classes, including mine, and we started getting to know each other better.
I started roaming over to her corner of the room when I participated in other classes and quickly found out she would party with me! Yes! I love a friend who matches my energy…Sarah affectionately named it my “level 10 crazy”! 🤪 She loves to dress up too! She let me borrow her cowgirl 🤠 hat for a country themed playlist. You can always find her going all out!
Sarah became an instructor this year and our friendship has grown even more. We attended FitCon together, she attended my instructor meet-up, she started her own High Fitness & paddling board class. We got to sweat it out and then connect by paddle boarding after class. We started hanging out outside of class and I’ve learned how she is so genuine and truly wants the best for others. When she’s sad and hurting, she thinks “what can I do for someone else”. She is one of the best examples of a friend to me.
She makes me smile and laugh all the time. Recently she gifted me Smiley Sam 🪴…my new cup plant for school. I look at Sammy on my desk and it brightens my day….i need a lot of that working at a middle school.
I love how a workout brought someone so special to me in my life. We can laugh and be silly and get rid of that stress. We can support each other through the good, the bad and the ugly! Thank you for lifting me up and brightening my day! 🙂
