Next weekend, Angela is heading to PNW Neighborhood Pet Talks for two full days of conversations about doing things differently for our pets.

She’ll be talking about two of her favorite subjects: plants + the endocannabinoid system on Saturday, and functional mushrooms on Sunday. And she’ll be joined by an incredible lineup of speakers, including Dr. Judy Morgan, Dr. Loren Nations, and Chelsea Kent.

Getting older doesn’t mean your dog should simply stop doing the things they love. 🥹🐾

As dogs age, pay attention to the little changes: how they’re sleeping, moving, interacting with you, navigating familiar spaces, or handling their normal routine.

Those subtle shifts can be easy to dismiss as “just getting old,” but they can also be your cue that it’s time to start thinking differently about how you support their mind, body, and overall quality of life. 💜

Your senior dog may need different support than they did five years ago, and that’s okay. The goal isn’t to stop aging. It’s to help them age well.

In our Senior Dog Study, researchers weren’t only watching for changes in the dogs’ behavior. 🐕

They also collected bloodwork to look at biological markers, including CRP, a marker associated with inflammation, and explore how those measurements related to the other changes being observed. 📊

Basically: Does what we see happening on the outside line up with measurable changes happening inside the body? 🧠

That gives researchers another piece of the puzzle when studying cognitive aging in senior dogs.
