Happy International Women’s Day! 🌍✨

This photo holds a world of meaning. It captures the moment my mother and I arrived in the United States from Liberia in the 1970s — two people carrying hope, resilience, and the quiet belief that a better future was possible.

I think about that journey often. We didn’t arrive with everything — but we arrived with enough. Enough courage. Enough love. Enough faith in the village that would surround us.

And what a village it was.

My story is woven from two continents and multiple cultures — my Liberian roots and my father’s Ugandan heritage shaped the way I see the world: the value of community, the dignity of struggle, and the transformative power of education. I was raised understanding that learning is not just opportunity — it is liberation.

That belief carried me all the way to earning many academic accolades.

But I didn’t get here alone. Behind every milestone was a community — people from different backgrounds, different cultures, different walks of life — who poured into me when I needed it most. That’s what a true village looks like. It doesn’t share your last name. It shares your vision.

On this International Women’s Day, I honor:
🌺 My mother — for her unshakeable strength
🌍 My father’s Ugandan legacy — for grounding me in identity and pride
🤝 Every person who believed in me across cultures and borders

To every woman navigating a new country, a new chapter, or a new dream — your journey matters. Your village is out there. And your potential has no borders.

Sometimes loss has a way of teaching us what life rushes past too fast to show.
It reminds us to slow down, to breathe deeply, to notice the small, beautiful things—like the scent of a rose or the warmth of the sun on your face. 🌹☀️

Take care of yourself. Rest when you need. Love while you can. And don’t forget to pause… even just for a moment… to truly be here. 💫

Watching our son graduate 🎓 is more than a proud moment — it’s a reminder of the legacy we build with love, sacrifice, and intention.

Grateful for the generations that paved the way 🙏🏽, and even more grateful to witness the next one rise 🌟. This is what legacy looks like. 💙✨

Did you know that bamboo takes up to 5 years just to break through the soil? 🌱

For years, nothing is visible. But beneath the surface, it’s developing strong roots—preparing for explosive growth.

Once it breaks through, it can grow over 90 feet in just a few weeks. 🎋

Faith works the same way. ✝️

God may be building something in you right now that no one else can see—not even you. Don’t lose hope in the waiting. Just because you don’t see progress doesn’t mean there isn’t growth. ⏳

Trust the process. Stay rooted in faith. Your season of breakthrough is coming. 🌿✨

More doesn’t always mean better. 🆗

You can make 50 posts, receive 20 awards, or attend 10 speaking engagements — and still not create true impact.

It’s not about how much you do — it’s about how well you do it and how you feel once it’s done.

Focus on meaningful actions, not just many actions.

Yesterday was rough. But today, I’m grateful for water, clear skin and a 3 day weekend. 🤗

Nothing and no one can prepare you for the impact of grief. It rears its head at any moment and can completely take you out.

But each day I grieve, I also learn new ways to heal and care for myself.

And for that, I’m grateful. ☺️

You should definitely audit your time like you audit your checkbook. Now I know money may feel like a very different currency for you, but time is just as crucial. Why? Because we cannot replenish it. Once it’s gone, it is gone! Want to know how to do it? It’s very simple. All you need is paper and pen if you want to keep an old-fashioned time log. Or you can resort to one of the many apps that can help you track the tasks that you’re doing within a given time period.

The most important thing is to pick a period of time and ensure consistency in tracking that period of time for 3 to 5 days at least. Then look at the patterns. You’d be surprised at what you discover!

Always feeling like you’re running out of time? What about feeling like you’re always under the gun? All of these are the symptoms of time scarcity. Often these symptoms are a direct result of your own relationship with time. If you spend more time chasing time, then you’ll always deal with time scarcity. But if you spend your time truly measuring the moments, then you might just have this thing figured out.

Take care of your inner voice because she is telling your story.

Caring for your inner voice requires that you surround yourself with the people, the ideas, and the voices that feed your spirit. Ever wonder why you can be around some thing or situation and feel uneasy? It’s because it’s in direct conflict with your inner spirit, which feeds your inner voice. And the more you force yourself to be in that space, the more you realize that you will acquiesce to that and ultimately become that. So don’t waste your time with people or in spaces that don’t support the voice that you want speaking back to you.
