Just got back from Raleigh…so please, walk with me as we look at a Carolina Hurricanes brand concept.

“Containing” the warning flags actually gives the perception that they’re flying in the storm winds. Still keep negative space state outline, but reference the Triangle with bullet points. No more awkwardly long logo.

Remove white, add light and dark silver. Actually make the hurricane circular/oval without weird, random flat spots. Give it balance and a centered feel.

Leave the Whalers brand, but give it a nod with a hidden H within the C. This becomes the Reverse Retro brand.

In 1968, the Durham Bulls and Raleigh Capitals merged Carolina League teams. For two seasons (1970 and 71), they were known as the Raleigh-Durham Triangles.

With only a RD hat to work from, created a little character for MLB Raleigh and their huge, yearly event.

Tying together the old Minnesota Moose and forever loved North Stars, the Minnesota Northern Lights of the Federal Prospects Hockey League. Couldn’t go any brighter, but wanted to ensure the glow is real.

Back in 2019, explored a couple of rebrand options with the Dunedin Blue Jays. Contract signed with Toronto, sketches done, vectors near complete before reorg into COVID canceled everything. Three names explored that tied Dunedin, Florida beaches and the Blue Jays together.

The first was Dunedin Pipers. Dunedin is Scottish through and through. Tied in a Sandpiper piper and there we go. A Florida beach bird affiliate for a Canadian bird club .
