The Better News: This year Showdown is ON!!!!. Smaller in scale
than in prior years but we will make the best out
of it.

The Best News: There is still room and time for you to Sign up
Today AND we are keeping registration open so
there is still time after today.

**Although we are keeping registration open we do need to set teams and order shirts. After today, we may not be able to guarantee you a shirt, we can guarantee you won't forget the day of fun**

T-Minus 30 days until the Southeast Showdown is scheduled to Kick Off!!!

This year has been quite different as we have seen and heard of interest but the registration numbers are still too low. We sit at 40. So we still have a ways to go.

Life happens, schedules change and committing to something a month or months in advance is not always ideal especially with work and kids (all the stuff/time they take up, darn kids!!!).

If we could run registration open through the day of the event, we absolutely would. But, there are many things that have to happen/be in place to make this a fun day for all and several are dependent on how many players and teams we have.

• Securing permits and ensuring equipment is ready and available
• Scheduling Referees
• Ordering Shirts (3 to 4 week lead time and that is only because the vendor is awesome!!!)
• Setting Team Rosters and setting up team sites
• Building out the bracket and schedules
• Scheduling Volunteers
• Making sure concessions are up and running
• And Host of other small things that are not necessary but are the little touches that we hope make the day of fun (after party!!! Yes, Please!!!)

We want to keep this day going for years to come and keep making improvements, making it better or add little things each year (for me live music and some of our very own students as lead signers was the highlight for me last year)

Not only do we need the help of all the volunteers doing the behind the scenes work., we need YOU, the players to take action and make this happen. Without you, there are no next day memories, no bragging rights, no drinks after the game and no trash talking both before and after.

This event started as way to bring the community together and giving us adults a chance to get out on the pitch and attempt to do the things our mind is telling us we can while our bodies just sit back and laugh. And along the way we found ways to raise funds to give back to our Blue Claws Program and ESP Rec Council in general (new goals and soccer equipment are some examples).

Also, don't forget to check out our Youth Mini-Camp. Let the kids have fun, be supervised and be out your hair for a few hours.

While the adults battle on the turf, kids are invited to attend our 2nd youth soccer mini camp inside at Sparrows Point Park.  Hendrik DeWit is back and will lead the group teaching them how to play "futsal", with skill training and scrimmages.

Registration for our 2026 event is still live....let's make this year better than last.

Youth mini camp also available...max 40 kids and it is only 10 bucks and comes with pizza and drinks.

Not interest in playing...you can still be part of the event. Come and watch or spend the day volunteering (we can always use an extra hand or two)

IT'S BACK!!! And hopefully bigger than last year.

I know we are excited and hope you are too! The Southeast Showdown - 2026 Edition date is set.

The registration link will be live shortly and accessible on the Event Page, on Southeast Showdown and on ESP Rec Council's website.

New this year, we are looking to add an Over 40 Division. Let's face it, we are entering Year 8 from when we first started and the OGs are, well, Old Folk now. Same fun, same atmosphere, maybe just at a slower pace.

Be on the lookout for a Poll to give us your feedback, but at the end of the day Registrations talk, so if this interests you get signed up earlier!!!

More details to come, including our 2nd Annual Youth Soccer Mini Camp offered by Find Your Finesse, the return of our live Rock Band featuring some of very own Edgemere Elementary singers and other potential upgrades to what is already a great day!!!

With Southeast Showdown (2025 Edition) in the record books, we want to thank all those that were able to be part of this year's event.

Your feedback and input is important to the success of the event and we have already started taking notes of how next year can be even better.

Be on the look on for a survey over the next few days as we want to hear from you on what made the event a success and where we can continue to improve.

One more night!!! See everyone in the morning. Day of Information and Rules have been emailed to all registered players. Please read through.

We would like all players available for the pre-tournament picture at 10:15 so please plan accordingly.

And a reminder...The Showdown will be at Sparrows Point Park on Wharf Road.

the 2015 Girls SESC Lightening will be on the field at 8:30am. so if arriving before 10am to warm up please be aware there may be a game going on.
