You see it too often at competitions where it is either not known or forgotten in the excitement of the fencing bout. Bringing back the etiquette, respect, and honor that the sport of fencing has always embraced. This is a great reminder to Always salute and give respect to those you fence and who are there to support your bout (directors, audience, etc). Happy fencing!

One of the best ways to celebrate world fencing week is by fencing! Skyward Fencing September Competition has been a blast! We are so happy and grateful to be a part of many a fencer’s journey of becoming a fencing athlete and building character along the way. We hope to continue fostering this growth through our community events and to be a part of your fencing story. Many thanks to all the support and camaraderie we have seen since the start of the fencing season; Forward. Together.

In this video you will learn why it’s important to bend your knees as a fencer. In the en garde position front and back knees should both be bent. Better mobility, and most of all for your extensions. As demonstrated, the straighter your back leg is during your extension the lower your Epee tip and leaning your stance becomes. If you keep the knees bent then during your extension the Epee tip will be straighter and more on target. Follow for more fencing and suggestions-happy fencing!
